We had to chnage the process on these due to not being able to get the same rod material every time.

Mist! I love it! I need one :\ quick Q what year is your ranger? I love it! And I have a friend who came across a wrecked new '10 F150...I think would be a perfect donor for a Ranger...

Please give me the details on yours. Danger Ranger Red, is the color I want. Or black. lol. Or white...or silver...ok...or yellow. lol.

It's an 03. I love it too, but i just learned how expensive the front hub/wheelbearing assembly is :grumpy:

Congrats ! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, as long as it took me to get one I feel congrats are actually in order lol.

I went for a walk in the woods behind the house this evening and started the first fire with it. I was right...I do really like this fire starter! The sun was getting low so the lighting wasn't the greatest but it was clear that spring here in this rain forest is well under way. Honeysuckles are blooming.

The prolific Poison Ivy is back...

I have no idea what this is, I just liked the lighting and balance of the shot...

I used a piece of a really large dead Pine tree....that's all fatwood...for tinder, and some dry Cedar limbs for fuel and had a little fire very quickly.

At the risk of appearing to be excited about the product - I ordered one today based on the feedback everyone provided on this thread.

Dude...no-one here is going to mind you being excited that you ordered one. I've been wanting one for a long time. I was excited as h#ll when I found them in stock, a little more excited when I got notice that it shipped, and then I got reeeeally excited when I saw the mail man put the envelope in the mail box. I got even more excited when I was checking it out and H#ll, when I lit the first fire with it was d@mn near orgas...um... it was awesome!! :)

It's a great piece of kit...worthy of a little excitement

.

I get about 3. But it depends on the size of the balls. Once you pull them out, you can fluff them open and they really catch a spark well

I pulled down some dead limbs in the yard yesterday afternoon and cut up an old fence post that was laying behind the shed. Used the fire kit and one of the strikers from Going Gear to get the fire going. Wife and I sat out and had a couple beers and let the fire burn down.

Fire is an amazing force. Kind of nice to get off the internet everyone once in a while (man I can't believe I'm saying that) and just sit down and enjoy the simple things.

Get off the internets and go outside? Blasphemy!

I will be trying to replicate this:

The owner made the bed rig, easy enough since its just tube lol. But I think I will go with bigger meats, the wheels look alright...

Will be looking to strip truck to bare frame, and coat. As well under cab and bed, and other parts.

I am debating if I really want a 5.4 in there, or maybe something else...maybe a 4.6, I dunno.

Still all up in the air.

But now I am liking the green on the fire kits....kinda want the ranger green now....may have to make the led tail lights cause everything I'm seeing is all cheapo low rider street truck junk.

Damn it...

Fire has an profound psychological effects in good times as well as survival situations.

Is Why I has iPhone. but the daystar....oh how it burns...it burns....

Yep...I much prefer the shade of my rain forest in the hot part of the day :D

Well...I like the German made 4.0 in mine just fine...plenty of power for my needs and hard enough to feed as is :)

Just remember when you're sizing your tires that, if you drive on mountainous curvy roads like I do, taller tires have more leverage and therefore more impact on your wheel bearings. The wheel bearings on these trucks are built in to the hub assembly and the part alone is about $400.00. The plus side is that they are easy to replace...or so I'm told, I'll be finding out soon.

Had a friend over to help me with some photos today...in the process I ended up showing him how well the ESEE fire starter works. The series of shots pretty much speaks for itself. I reeeeally like this little jewel.
