Price, quality and your name behind the product design and support is all most of should need.

The fact Lion was able to bring a nice folder for RYP in for $175 with quality BOM is the right direction, if that folder ever arrives. Another 2 months of waiting could turn against your decision of using Lion.

Which wasn't backed up with any actual reason.
Not all opinions are created equal, regardless of what they told us when we were young.

I'm not sure which part of "PLEASE do not let this thread turn into a debate" you struggling with. But, the man's opinion is his own and there is no reason he needs to explain it to you. Now if you don't mind, maybe you can lay off others and follow Jeff's direction to not turn this thread into a debate?

He also asked if people could explain their reasons.
He asked that it not become a political debate, and I have not made it so.
You also cannot silence me with a snippy tone or veiled insults.:)

he didn't say anything about politics. he asked that it not become a debate several times and asked that it not be a debate on principals. since you are attacking someone's point of view, i'd say you are debating principal.

also, i'm thinking that they are more concerned with the reasons for "no" votes than "yes" votes. the post in question was a yes, with a comment that made in the usa is better. leave him alone.

no one is trying to silence you. one fellow forumite simply asked another politely to drop it at the request of the owners. so, get over yourself. no one is out to insult you or shut you up, but if you need the last word that bad, go ahead, but it's really petty and kind of lame.

by the way, jeff himself asked me personally not to debate the principals. i wasn't insulted and i didn't cry back at him. i apologized and let the thread move on.

now, can we get back to the subject?

Whatever.

I voted yes, I don't rule out quality products made outside the US, but I do try to buy products made in the US first.

Thread is closed. I asked kindly for everyone not to get in a pissing contest. We simply wanted a personal opinion, not a debate on why someone else's opinion may be wrong. So screw it. Obviously some of you can't play above a child's level. We appreciate everyone that responded in a professional manner, regardless of how you voted.

I would probably buy it but with the "Made in USA" on the knife it would be better.

As a side note, swissboy, we appreciate you being here on this forum and posting your views, especially as someone new here. You're answer did not need to be explained as some others felt it should be. Your opinion is your opinion, and we respect that and you never have to explain why you feel the way you do around here. Please continue to be part of our forum, even though we have closed this thread.

As for the decision on the folder, Mike and I have a long ride to Vegas and will be discussing this on the trip. The points all of you brought up will be part of this. We also have a meeting with Gianni at SHOT. We plan to announce our decision after we return. Thank again to everyone who participated in this in a courteous, honest manner.

I was withholding my opinion until after getting to toy with the knife in person.

I say Loinsteel is where it's at.

I'm an american made type of guy but I must have played with a few hundred folders this week from all over the world, american made, asian import and everywhere else and the Lionsteel offerings were some of the best I found.
