sonofwilfred I was thinking the AGK would make a heck of a whitetail deer field dressing and skinning knife. That’s the largest animal I have ever hunted. I bet a #4 would also. You’re not making this choice any easier.
And thanks for the info/history about whistles. I have seen that prices can really vary, like from a little steep to hundreds of dollars. I do have my eye on a brass Hudson that’s not overly priced while looking to be in pretty decent shape.
You can’t buy them all, gotta leave a few for the rest of us!

Agreed. It was a gift that came with G10 scales. Much better with old school canvas micarta!

Thanks, I’ve experienced zero buyers remorse. It’s a winner and the Kydex sheath is the first factory fixed blade sheath I’ve ever been completely happy with.

I've made little pocket caddies out of duct tape for years to keep just a few items in the pocket from buching up and stay organized. I've been looking online for a good pocket organizer like yours but don't want to waste money on something that might not work for me. Might have to try to sew one to fit my needs

When I started collecting i only bought broad arrow whistles and im glad I did because the price has sky rocketed lately.

We have more snow here than I remember ever having seen before.
Everything looks so magical covered in thick snow....

Had to get outside and enjoy a hot brew out in the woods.
Brought the Esee 5 and the Kelly kettle Trekker to get things done.
Split some sticks and made some shavings and curls to fill the firebase

Used some birch bark and a ferrorod to get the fire going.

Waiting for the water to boil ...

Never takes long with the Kelly Kettle

And coffee is ready

Time to walk on
