Yes The handle of the 6hm does look more comfy. The thing is I bought the one with the blocky handle.Have a look at the Esee 6hm. The hm handles are much more comfortable than the originals.

Hey sorry for the late response. I had to take a few day's away from being online so much. That looks really good and sounds like a nice easy process. Thanks for the pics and the tutorial, I appreciate it! Yea, it does look like they blast the blade before coating.Gday mate I just use a generic paint stripper from a local hardware store. I don't know if it makes a difference but I cover it fairly thickly and wrap in in aluminum foil and let it sit for up to an hour. Then as you saw, the results are perfect. I just take the toxic parcel to my wash-bay open it up and give it a good hose down Now I'm not sure why but the steel seems to be a matt finish after stripping. My brother is convinced the stripper is eating the steel but I think ESEE sandblasts before coating... Either way the finish is easily sanded back to what level of shine your after.
Just looking at the next photo I see my edge is still shiny so Id say the stripper is not hurting the steel.
I hope this helps you out. I was going to make a YouTube video next time.
Thank youThey are nice scales mate![]()
I went with TKC G10 scales on my ESEE6 (see post #9). I bought that knife well before there was an HM designation, or I likely would have chosen that option. That acknowledged, I've modified other blocky micarta scales (Ontario RD7). It's pretty simple, using a half-round file...my first effort was a 20 minute quick and dirty job done as I was getting ready to head out for a hiking/camping weekend. Even that was a huge improvement, and I left it that way for a year or so before I went back and put a little more effort into it.Has anyone modified their ESEE6 factory handle? The handle LOOKS great but not comfortable in hand at all, especially for extended use. If this is too difficult to do, I may just buy a set of TKC.
Nice. It looked like that here on Friday. Now we got 3in of snow.Lunch outdoors today
The Esee 4 helped me out
