You guys really are too much!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I am truly flattered!!

Fantastic work Evan, you really are going from strength to strength  Did you get bitten by a radioactive Barlow or something?! ;) :D

Nice work.

Jim

Hi All - Received a welcome package in today's mail from Brother Esnyx. A little while back I had purchased one of the Queen issues of a Robeson stockman but it only came in that large center swell stag handled that I really just dislike. But I knew Evan could hook me up. He created his version of the Rogers jigged bone from scratch and was even able to salvage the Pocket Eze shield as well. Looks like a vintage knife from back in the day that just came off the makers bench. Really hit a home run on this one.

Another dandy he made from scratch for me was kind of a different sort. I was looking for something in between a Buck 110 and the Buck 55. Something I could drop into a jacket pocket, or along side the billfold.

So this slippie was created for me to fill my perceived need (have to justify it somehow right) using brass and CPM154. Buffalo horn covers Evan? I forget what you told me. And he really put some thought into the opening cam action. Evan knows I've RA in my hands and some knives with a stiff opening pull really give me difficulty. So this one has a nice pinchable easy open cutout with a terrific smoothness to the half stop, then stiffer as it snaps open. So you don't have that feeling it's going to close on you like a real light pull knife can feel like on occasion. Tight, no wobble. Spot on fit & finish. Smooooooth.

I've been watching Evan's progress from a knife modder to full fledge maker and to see the quality of his pieces he's able to create in such a relatively short amount of time in the field, so to speak, really speaks volumes about this guys skills. I really think the sky is the limit for Evan and will be looking forward to further creations.

If you're looking or considering some custom knife work, I cannot recommend Esnyx enough. Heckuva great guy to work with. And extremely tolerant of my dumbass questions. Lol.

Thanks Evan! Joe

Congratulations, Joe! Those knives look splendid :thumbup:
Evan certainly did hit a grand slam! I'm astounded by the bone/jigging on that stockman

That's some nice looking had jigging there, great mod!

Thanks guys - Evan really nailed down the dying and jigging process on that one. He said it took a few trial runs but I think it has a great look.

That Redwood Burl Beerlow is outstanding! The figure of the burl is exceptional. Congrats on that beauty Bleh!

Evan, your work is top-notch! Your skills have improved exponentially in a very short time. Very impressive!

Sean, that longpull spear beerlow is breath-taking. I especially like the angular finishing on the bolster and matching contour on the covers.

Evan, you've outdone yourself (in my opinion)! :D

I know that some people may think that the bolster stamp is possibly narcissistic, but my family is very proud of our history, and I wanted something like this to pass on to my daughter some day. Evan knocked it clear out of the park(e)!

It was Evan's idea to round the bolsters and leave the edges of the bone covers raised at the forward end, which is a feature often seen on older Barlows. I love it! I do believe too that this is the first Esnyx custom mod to feature sawcut bone!

I think it's your heirloom, your treasure to pass on so they can take their opinions of your narcissism and well..... you get the idea.
I love the raised corners of the forward part of the covers and that sawcut speaks for itself. Great choice Dan and another awesome mod by Evan

That was a very nice post, Joe. Thank you!

Getting the action right on that one was kinda tricky, but helped me get a much better understanding of the mechanics of a knife. Oh, and that is African Blackwood on those scales.

Thanks to everyone else for your nice comments! I should have a new custom to post up here within the next few days!
