Esnyx Custom Knives

I know I've posted this elsewhere, but since this thread seems to be a compendium of Evan's work, I'll add my beerlow to the ranks of Evan's mods. Redwood Burl covers, long pull spear blade, nickle silver bolsters (I believe)

Really liking the angle shaping on the bolsters, then onto the covers. Really a cool look and that burl is sweet!

Nice!

Evan, you've outdone yourself (in my opinion)! :D

I know that some people may think that the bolster stamp is possibly narcissistic, but my family is very proud of our history, and I wanted something like this to pass on to my daughter some day. Evan knocked it clear out of the park(e)!

It was Evan's idea to round the bolsters and leave the edges of the bone covers raised at the forward end, which is a feature often seen on older Barlows. I love it! I do believe too that this is the first Esnyx custom mod to feature sawcut bone!

Beautiful knife, Dan! I think the bolster stamp is a wonderful touch, especially for an heirloom headed to your daughter. And you gotta love the patina you have on a brand new knife. ;)
Evan sure does superlative work!:thumbup:

Love those gunstock "Barlows!" Evan, you are becoming a specialist in "nontraditional" traditionals! Your knives seem to get better and better. Hope to see one up close someday!

Here is one I finished up just in time for Christmas. I made this one as a gift for my father, he has been extremely supportive of my new craft. This one is the second coffin jack I have made. CPM 154 blade and spring, stainless hardware, pinned shield, and elephant ivory scales, with a closed length of 4 inches.

I learned a hard lesson on this one about making sure not to overheat the ivory when grinding the pins. Unfortunately I ran out of ivory that would fit this handle, or I would have replaced it. Luckily, my dad likes the cracks on the back, as he feels it gives the knife a more handmade look to it.

That's a beauty either way, Evan. Sweet!

Evan, that is another fine looking coffin jack. I agree with your dad, the crack shows character and IMHO is better looking than a flawless cover.

Thank you for the kind words everyone! He loved it, and cannot wait for me to make his next one!

I think I am slowly turning my family members into Knife Nuts! Now my wife, mom, and mother-in-law want me to make them something! Perhaps some traditional paring knives?:)

What a great knife you made for your Dad Evan. If my son made it for me that crack would make it even more special.

I am totally blown away by the incredible workmanship you put into all your projects Evan. Simply beautiful. I only hope to be able to have one in my collection some day.

To everyone wishing they could have a piece of Evan's work in their collection:

Get 'em soon before Evan realizes how much his knives are really worth!

^^^^
Sounds like excellent advice, Philllll! That Evan guy does superlative work!

This once ordinary 1977 yellow delrin Case 99 arrived in today's mail, now dressed in beautiful new bonestag:

Evan did a super job on this for me with Culpepper amber bone-stag and a custom Gimp shield. Sweeeet! Thanks Esynx!
