Well, it came and went, with much fanfare and fun. I had an absolute blast, and I must say, it was one of the best Gatherings I have ever been to. No major issues, everything seemed to go well, but most Gatherings are judged not by the Organizer, but by the folks that attended. For that, we will have to wait to see what the group says. From my perspective, I had a helluva time, and getting to hang out and have fun with everyone, was truly spectacular.
Jerry Fisk, what can I really say. I think the word "honor" is very pale and weak in action, with regards to the time I got to spend with him. It was truly an honor.
Meat. Damn.
Everything else, well, here we go......
I arrived early Thursday morning, and began to work finishing up some of the last few items. Bladite showed up Thursday morning, to help out and get the ball rolling. We had to get the fire pit built, fill up the water barrel, and get stuff up the hill, like drinking water, food, and other stuff.
My arrival was greeted by the Green B, a good sign we were on the right track.
Filling the barrel. For washing dishes, hands, and general clean up. Yeah, that's E's Kubota.
The New Fire Pit. E wanted a "stove" style pit, since majority of the food was cooked there. It's pretty and unused. Not for long.
Here it is, ground zero for the landing of Beckerheads, that were, at the time this pic was taken, were decending from state's unknown.
Mr. Fisk, A Living National Treasure, and I'm not joking, either.

Making sure all work was being performed, and takin' in some fantastic East Tenn Weather.
Uncle E with 2 things he loves. Stihl, and bamboo.
Our firepit needed to be broken in, and so, we needed a load of wood, within reach. We burnt 4 loads this size, over 3 days.
Once the 'Heads started showing up, we got them and their gear up the hill, and camps began to emerge from the treeline.
Once we had enough, the party started. No way can a brand new firepit go unused for long, this was th makings of a fire that would be known as, big.
Most everyone was here Friday night, so, the fun began. Just milling around camp.
We made sure everyone had a BK5 to play with. Since it was the showcase knife, and we had Mr. Fisk, what more could anyone want? We handed them out, as folks got there.
Ark gettin his food prep on, BK5 style
Friday night was a true party, and come Saturday morning, everyone wanted water, and bacon. Oh yeah, bacon. My drunk ass managed to improperly hook up my hammock (I was sleeping in the pavillion), and managed to slide down the support beams. Oh well, it happens.
More on that later.
Here's Pointy getting his bacon on, BK5 style.
With patient onlookers, wanting some food.
Mornin' Ya'll.
More comin'.
