Ethics of Circle P (Vandine)

Hello people~

sorry if this reply comes a little late in the day .. but i have been away from the forums for the past few ... so i was completely unaware of all this hunting against Paul..

i have some of my blades up on pauls site .. and he has sold blades for me .. as well as purchase some blades for his own collection too.
i had several problems in mid-creation of my the blade i was making for him .. as well as moving house in the process and having my grinder blowup ...
i was WAY behind schedule of delivery.

BUT.
paul was always understanding and considerate to my problems.

i have not had any problems with paul at all and have found him to be a pleasant person to deal with, and one that i would deal with anytime.

im sorry to hear that people have had poor times with P in the past.
it happens to the best of us.
i respect many of the people on both sides of the fence here.
but, as already stated, that doesnt make anyone right nor wrong.
it just makes them people.

D.

Dementia, any plans for a website. Are there any ways to view or purchase the knife/blade miniatures and or jewelry you make? Thanks and Happy Holidays............RB

Paul shut down Circle P Knives on January 7th of this year. He is still actively posting on the CKD Forum. You might be able to contact him there through a private message.

SPryor Knives

I don't post much here on GB&U, but read many threads here.

What I am trying to figure out is what exacatly did Paul do to you that was/is so heinous.

Just give the facts: Did you get ripped off?...How?
Maybe I missed something here, but I don't see anything but personal mudslinging. You bring your venting to a public forum, you owe the folks here substantiation of your claims.

BTW, I don't know of or have contact with either party here.

.45acp,

Your first assessment is correct. It is all just a bunch of mud slinging.

It all started when a Neil Blackwood decided that Paul had a hand in creating a copy of his design without checking the facts first. Once the facts were presented, that thread dropped like a hot potato! This one was then started by Steve, who I guess has a personal problem with Paul.

I first met Neil Blackwood at this years Blade Show. From everything I can tell, Neil is a man of great integrety that unfortunately presented a theory and got caught up in the moment when a bunch of guys who can't check out anything decided to create a lynching mob.

Paul was just a small business owner whose sales style was irritating to some people. Paul also has some physical problems that some intolerant, bigoted people (who unfortunately frequent these and other forums) just can't seem to get past. Combine both and he becomes an easy target for those people.

I have not met Steve Pryor, but I suspect he too may have got caught up in the Paul bashing.

Unfortunately, these threads combined with the economy, caused Paul's business to go under. Fortunately for a number of people on these forums, Paul never considered suing.

If he is bringing Circle P back, I wish him all the luck in the world.

Pam

Knife lady,

Thanks for the info...good luck to Paul in his future endeavors.

As for SP, well he seems to have disappeared and does not care to substantiate his claims. rolleyes: In my mind that speaks more loudly than all of his preceding posts in this thread
:barf:.

Thanks,

Steve

Suing who, and for what, exactly?

My read on Circle P is that he complained heavily about the Dealer fees here at BFC when they were implemented, and slammed some people into the ground because he didn't want to pay the fee to advertise here. In other words, he was pissed off about his 'free ride' being over with, and left BFC bitter and resentful.

Besides, the guy was an *******, and his dialog with potential customers was less than professional. I wouldn't ever purchase a thing from him, no matter what. He also needs to learn to leave the bull**** attitude behind when dealing with people.

I have re-read the threads and did not find any mention of Pauls physcial disabilities and I doubt very much they played any role whatsoever in how others here percieved the issue obver NEIL BLACKWOOD'S Credit Card knife design.

I wish Paul the very best on his newest attempt to make money in a very competitive market such as the custom knife market is. Maybe he should listen to those knife makers who think Paul is just a wee-bit:rolleyes: too pushy and lighten up on his style.

As for Paul filing suit over the CC issue, he sure could have and it would have proven to be a most frivolous and expensive venture. Anyone can sue anybody, so you are correct Pam in that respect but Paul's money would be better spent attending a Dale Carnegie training seminar [or two]

Thanks, Ira, for jarring my memory.

I read about the Blackwood CC knife a while back, and I also think Paul did the wise thing by not attempting a lawsuit.

I also hope he conducts himself a little better this time around, and leaves the B.S. sales tactics behind.
