Ever Been Knife Dissed?

The utter stupidity of some people truly does amaze me. Like those examples when the 'disser' tells the 'dissee' that their knife isn’t worth whatever it was that they paid. It doesn't matter if YOU wouldn't have paid that for a knife, that’s still what it is worth to the person who did pay that much. Just because you would only pay $5 for a knife, it doesn't mean everyone’s knife magically becomes worth $5.

I read somewhere of a guy who lent his Spydie Dodo to someone and leaving for somewhere else. Being the handy, utility-looking knife that it is, he found him later using it to cut dry-wall and sheet material for his renovation chores!

My standard "sweet" reminder for anyone who borrows my knife:

Just remember, be careful: that's expensive! :D

I used to work in a fine dining restaurant, and I always brought a knife with me to work. I probably can't count the number of times I got weird looks for taking out my knife and cutting open cardboard boxes or bags or whatever else that would need opened. Of course, they were all completely oblivious to the chefs all around them that were sporting 10+ inch knives openly.

Anyways, for whatever reason the ratio between guys and girls that worked there was something like one guy for every ten or twelve girls. The girls would always ask how much I paid for a knife, and when I told them most of them averaged around 150-170, they looked at me in utter disbelief that I would have payed that much for any knife, let alone several of them.

Of course, then I would always ask them how much their purses cost, and how many of them they had.

My wife's cousin once saw my S&W cutting Horse, which was my cheapo knife that I EDC along with my Endura4. He opened it, commented that it looked good and sharp, and proceeded to move the linerlock to the opposite side! He handed it back saying, "Oops! I think I broke it." Yes, it's a cheap carry knife , but when he got the linerlock stuck to the other side, I got real pissed. I had to pry it back in place using my SAK. Now, I can't flick it open without the linerlock getting jammed. I ended up giving it away.

I'm glad I didn't let him touch my Endura...
