I got surprised by a girl that was happy to see my Recon1 knife since she carries a knife too, also Cold Steel.

She pulled out Cold Steel Swift, and soon said that she's huge fan of Taylor Swift so she had to have her knife...

I just stayed silent and eventually only said "Yeah, she's a good singer, and this is a good knife"...

Anyone has similar story?

I have a funny story about how a guy who liked me decided to give me a knife for my birthday.
We had only known each other for a week, and he knew that I was a big fan of knives and the group "Imagine Dragons". And in the middle of the party, he turns on the song “Dull knives” and under these lines “Dull knives twisting my spine, Dull knives taking my life” brings a knife ... That was really funny and by the way we didn’t see this guy anymore, but the knife remained in memory, I called him “Dull” , as it turned out, the handmade knife of the company "BPS KNIVES". He really took care of the gift and it's very sweet)

Yes. Pretty much every time I listen to the little voice in my head.

I would see a knife, and the voice would say "C'mon, you know you want it"

And I would say "But I don't really need it".

And the voice would say "Who cares about need. Just wanting it is enough. You deserve to buy yourself a new knife".

And I would say "But I shouldn't be spending money on another knife".

And the voice would say "C'mon, it's only money. A few hundred bucks won't break you. What's a few hundred dollars in the grand scheme of life?".

And I would say "I don't know, I really shouldn't".

And the voice would say "Hey, if you don't buy it I'm just going to keep bugging you about it. So just buy it already so you can stop thinking about it!".

At which point I'm convinced, and I buy it. And then I end up regretting it because it's yet another knife I don't need, and in some cases it turns out I don't really like it.

But I've gotten a lot better in the past few years at ignoring the voice. I take it one day at a time.

Oh yeaaa, I'm a girl, but I love knives. Some guys do not understand this and perceive everything under stereotypical thinking, such as that girls should not go hiking and use knives, much less have a whole collection.
That is awesome to hear!

I know a few girls that have a knife, but they mostly have SAK or something from gas station. This girl bought that knife just because she believes it's a collab of Cold Steel and Taylor Swift singer, but she loves the knife and always has it.

I think there is a lot of women that like knives, but they just don't visit forums like this one.

Taylor Swift aside, I bought a Sebenza because I thought I’d bond with it as they’re so incredibly popular here. Hasn’t happened. Turns out I already had much better folders. For me. Laconico, Shirogorov, Anso, Burger, and more.

I dont know who Swift Taylor is but I bought a new Sebenza for the same reasons as you and because it was miraculously available. I even sent it back for warranty as any new knife should not be so hard to open, they in turn did a SPA treatment and made me pay for shipping and tough nuggies, it's still hard to open "bank vault" or something. I still have it as even the ugly step child needs love I suppose.

I can’t use thumb studs very well either since having a stroke. So there’s that too.

I once made a knife for a female friend after hearing that she "liked knives"
Months later I asked how it was going and if it needed sharpening, or anything?
I asked if she Really like it, or just thought Whatever... it's just a knife? :/

She said that she Really Loved it...... & She said that every day before work she sits in her car, and Pulls it out of it's kydex sheath, looks at it, then snaps it back into it's sheath I made for it.
She said that it gives her confidence and jumpstarts her morning! Puts her in a positive mood.

Thinking about that, I think that was one of the nicest things I ever heard! :)
A real compliment.

*some women like knives More than men..... I've met a few online.
