Ever impressed with a inexpensive knife?

One of my favorite knives for pocket carry is a schrade two blade aluminum handle Carter Mill Devices advertising knife. It is thin with easy to sharpen blades. Best thing was it was free. Carter gave them out when you purchased their "spinning travelers". Being the shift supervisor in the cotton mill had at least one perk.

Got this United Cutlery Combat Commander UC2658 yesterday for under $15 new.
What a impressive knife for the price....a real surprise I must say.
AUS-8 and a leather sheath......amazing. AUS-8 under other brands is more costly.
It's well made.....has a nice feel and a easy EDC.

United cutlery elite Bowie . Bought it back in 96' and it has been great. I have used it every for skinning , woodwork , and looking scary in a mirror while holding it. :)

I was impressed with the Kershaw crown. For a $15 knife the fit and finish was pretty damn good(the only flaw i found was a slight gap where the bolster and liner meet). The blade had to be sharpened every other day but besides that it's a fine knife.

I have a Kershaw Tremor that I paid less than $30 for. It is to large for me for an EDC, but I bought it for a sharpening experiment. Would EDC it except for its 4 inch blade. Pretty intimidating when opening in public. Would make a good hunting carry for field dressing deer etc.

Just bought a Kershaw Nerve and am quite impressed with it.

Neat blade shape and great handle ergonomics.

Quite a solid folder for the price paid.

I love cheap blades, and they bring me as much joy as the midtech's and customs I purchase.

I love the KABAR Bob Dozier, Kershaw Chill, CRKT drifter, and mcginnis. This list will never end if I continue :D.

Enlan El01, and srm 710 !

and Ganzo, and the rest of the knives at exduct.

These knives seem to be much more popular in Europe for some reason.

The cold steel canadian skinner. Cheap and easy to keep sharp..

The cold steel spike - sharpest (and scariest) knife I have ever had. I say scariest as it is the most dangerous knife I have owned, no protection for hands and a little touch is a cut..

yeah, the CRKT nirk novo w/ serrations. its not a GREAT knife but it came super sharp (one of three knives that i have accidentally cut myself with) and its a great minimalistic knife for the price. I would recommend it if you're looking for a thin sheepsfoot blade that doesn't need to hold its edge super well

Almost all of my knives are inexpensive knives. I like bargains. :)

You are lucky. My motto when it comes to knives is that its not really yours until its made you bleed.

Last knife i bought only took me 45 mins.

On thread topic, very happy with my rat1

I am continually impressed by my Buck 845 vantage select, Kershaw Blur, and Spyderco Tenacious. Tough knives that are perfect for EDC.

Kershaw Nerve. Best $18 I've spent in years...
Rock solid lockup, ZERO blade play, and a cool/useful modified Wharncliffe style blade.
Came razor sharp, easy to touch up.

Yes - absolutely.

I have been impressed over and over by Victorinox, and then also recently I was gifted my first Opinel (Thanks Todd!) and that knife is impressing me as just a great knife that is unique and very user friendly.

I also have been impressed by some Kershaw offshore offerings, the Volt II for instance being more knife than they are charging for.

Most recently I was very pleased with the Gerber Instant - ball bearing pivot, G10, and assisted open for thirty bucks. Not bad.

It's a good time to be a Knife Nut - even if you don't have $300 to spend on a knife.

best

My $30 Spyderco Tenacious has been my EDC knife since late July or so and I'm very pleased with it and my CRKT M16 10z that cost me only $16 was a great, cheap EDC knife til my Tenacious replaced it. I also used to have on of those cheap Pakistani made Western W49 clones that stood up very well to some abuse I wouldn't dare put a knife through now days.
