Ever impressed with a inexpensive knife?

I am fond of the RAT 1. My EDC now for almost a year!!

Very nice, the white scales and black blade is a good combo.

I have to say the CRKT Ripple for $25 dollars is a great way to try out an IKBS styled opening.

Sanrenmu 710. At less that 9 bucks delivered, probably the best value I've ever found. And no, it is
NOT a Sebenza knockoff.

I can't seem to get mine sharp at all. Even with paper wheels. It's like I'm sharpening a stick of butter. I think maybe the geometry is too obtuse, and I'll have to go to stones and reprofile, as I'm probably not hitting the edge. Tip down too, so I don't like that, but a solid design. Definitely worth the money if you like tip down. Handle is a bit slippy for me, maybe I'll beadblast it.

Yes, i have been impressed with inexpensive knives. Particularly: BK&T, KaBar, Ontario, BUCK, Boker, Remington, Condor. Also TOPS-but they do not really fall into the inexpensive catagory.

I'm amazed no one has listed the $17 Enlan El-01

I've seen EL-01s for as low as $9, and with shipping that comes to about $13.

I tried to order one once but it was seized and destroyed by Customs since the pivot must have been loose... if it had thumbstuds I would order more.

Up until recently I never paid more than $50 for any knife, and before I started buying knives again a few months ago I had not bought a knife in about four years. In that time I EDCd 2 CRKT M21-14SFGs that are just amazing for the price, they seemed to handle everything. My wife had also bought me a Smith & Wesson HRT out the front tanto as a gift, that knife is the only knife I still have after getting rid of all my old knives to make room for my newer knives. The HRT is a great knife, but I dont use it anymore because of its design, when closed the blade is exposed inside the knife and when open the guts are exposed so its easy to get dirt and water and anything else inside the knife and mess it up.. even though this never happened to me, the knife holds sentimental value so I try not to use it anymore. All three of the knives listed were EDCd, the two CRKTs were EDCd for four years and the HRT was EDCd for three.

When I started buying knives again I bought an inexpensive Spyderco Tenacious just to get a feel for the brand, that knife became my favorite EDC. I only had it for about a month or so before deciding to give it to my nephew. I also bought a Kershaw Speed Bump, which is my favorite inexpensive knife and is an amazing value for the money. I got mine for under $50 but they have been discontinued so they will probably go up in price.

That's odd, mine all get very sharp and came very sharp. Hmm.

The Mora's and the Buck 110, with careful shopping, are my favorite renewable <$30 knife examples. As to previous <$30 buys or deals - the Boker Tree Brand (Solingen CS) 'classic' slipjoints I've 'won' off evil-bay are right up there. So were the various Vic SAKs - especially the <$30/set Smurf blue ALOX Farmer and Inova (USA) 2 x AA LED flashlight kits in a tin from a mail order distributor - and I also recycled the tins as emergency/first aid kits. You may still be able to land some Kershaw 'blems' from a guy who sells Kershaws, too, for that. The search is half the fun... sadly, the s&h cost today kind of spoils that - as does 9-10% local s/t!

Gang- Check out the new Case Calibers folders. I just got the Mako for $30.
I guarantee you will have one of these folders in your EDC rotation, if not as your primary EDC.

I have known guys with little money talk great stuff about cold steel never a complaint and they never cost much I have had several kershaw's I have picked up on sale and always loved them the most recent was a partial serrate kiss straight blade got it at Big 5 for $14 and took it camping worked great all weekend cutting up my steak and preparing meals

Dunno....I'm thinking about a cheap Mora for a hack around.

I highly recommend the stainless mora companion. The 12C27 steel sharpens like a carbon steel, the handle is rubbery and grippy and the knife locks well into the sheath. I just got my order of two stainless mora companions and an opinel #8 in from www.baryonyxknife.com . As I was holding them today, all I could think was "damn, these knives were only $13 each!"
