Hey gang, just lost my all time favourite blade, my blue alox farmer, could be anywhere. Lost my Gransfors Bruks sfa en route home from the North, my storage bin busted open. Huge losses, never even used my sfa, except to cut up my 80 dollar christmas tree up north to try it out.
Anyone else lose a good blade over the years? Help me over my losses.:p

I lost this one in the early seventies one Fall. I was crushed.
I plowed it up the next Spring,:D cleaned it up and one of the spings broke so I sent it to Shrade for repair and they fixed it and returned it for free - a big savings to a kid who's trapping money had run out.
This one is now retired.

Yes we stopped for lunch. My friend borrowed my Microtech LUDT to cut up an apple while I was wading and instead of giving it back to me she either sat it on top of my pack or laid it beside and I didn't get it. Hiked 2 miles back once I realized but couldn't find it.

I have a two silvers and a red one. In fact - if you want the silver one, that may ease your pain - let me know - I will send it.

Lost my Puma Game warden when I went out off the trail to do a potty stop. The only thing I figured out is when I dropped my pants it slipped off my belt, it is still out there.
I have three Spyderco Delicas, one in my pocket, one in my knife drawer and one probably in my Levi's pocket in the wash machine.

A few months back, my work shed was broken into. Well, when I say broken into, I really mean that one of the crew working on the house decided to take some liberties with the keys - and my stuff. The only thing missing was my camp knife (based on a Delta 5 kit) and spec-ops sheath. Of course, none of the workers owned up to it. My fault for leaving it lying around. Hope the bastard loses a finger.

It's funny - whenever I lose a knife, and particularly in this case where the item was stolen, I feel compelled to replace it right away. I ordered the steel and materials to make a new knife and a new survival sheath just a few days after I gave up on recovering the old one.

Best,

- Mike

I once lost a small pocket knife I always carry. After giving up on it I bought a new one and a spare since I really liked the knife. A few months later I found the original one under the cushion of my easy chair. I least I like the knife as I now have three of them.

Only, some 18 years ago , machete,I stopped to make coffee, put machete aside, and when noticed I left it,I was some 10 min away,so I decided to take it on my way back.Never saw it again. And from that day I take extra care, and haven't lost other blade ever since.

Year and a half ago I was working w/ the local Div of Wildlife tearing down some barbwire fence. Lost my IWB ZDP/Ti Cyclone. Bought another, but I still get upset when I think about it.

I think I've heard this one before...

This is precisely why I don't loan out my knives to anyone. Also the reason I go on e-bay and buy TSA confiscation lots for cheap. Then I can give them their own and not worry about what happens to it.

With that said, I lost my Schrade Stockman at a Boy Scout camp one time. Fell out of my pocket. My troop spent 5 hours looking for this thing and most wanted to leave until I offered up $100 of my hard-earned lawn mowing cash to the finder. We left after it got dark without finding it. Got home and my dad told me I owed him $100 because he had found it out on a trail. We had pretty much walked right over it. Most expensive knife I've ever bought.:o

My KaBar Warthog grew legs and walked away from my tackle box when I was taking a leak one time. No idea where it is.

The only knife I have ever lost (that I cared about, and wasn't a utility razer) was my Old Timer Scrade pocket knife. I just got to the top of Mount Si (most hiked place in Washington) I was WAY to tired to notice anything slip out of my pants, and guess out...? My knife did....:(

I "lost" multiple SAK's, a few Spyderco's, and some Gerbers in the military.

Mainly to the infantry. Best thieves in the world. And I say that with respect. ;)

Only knife I ever lost was a Buck 110 in the middle of a huge field. Never found it.

It was my fathers before it was mine and had sentimental value so a few years ago I found one on fleabay, made in 76', just like mine, and I reproduced the distiguishing marks that I could remember.

Haven't lost that one yet.
