No lock stick with the button lock. If you have handled a Freeman, the action is very similar, very smooth.

I have only two SHFs, both full size and yes - both have a tiny bit lock stick, but I think it is not abnormal. I don't see any noticeable lock wear though I have not owned them long enough.

A small amount of lock stick that does not hinder the operation of the knife is probably normal. I only get worried if it is brutal lock stick.

I have 9 SHFs, 8 large and 1 small, none of them have lock stick. The only SHF I have experienced lock stick on was a full PVD, and that was only minor and I think was due to the PVD coating on both the lockbar and the lock face.

I liked this Blasted Hill Knives design so much in 1084 that two more made it here this week. One in AEB-L and zebrawood and a folder in the same design in 154cm and micarta. Awesome stuff!





I know that I can torture his AEB-L without issue, but I'm curious about this folder. It'll be fun to tote around!

Continuing down the Cold Steel rabbit hole after getting a couple 4Max Scouts, a 4Max Elite, another AD10 and a Spartan all fairly recently… a black/OD AD15 arrived today. Still getting used to the Scorpion Lock, but it’s definitely a well-made piece and I’m enjoying it.

Yabut the Luzon is "cheap thrills". I don't mind spending $40 on a knife that I will never use other than as a big toy. Not sure about spending $100+. Also worth noting that Demko's secondary lock works like a champ at reinforcing a standard liner lock. Too bad the patent is filed and belongs to Cold Steel. It would be a worthwhile addition to several of my liner locks.

* Original Goat "Stocky Goat" In-the-buff Aluminum Scales for Microtech MSI with 1/4" lock bar. I pre-ordered a few months back with the lanyard hole and belly jimping. I also ordered some Stocky Goat Anodized Ti scales for my Ritter Hogue RSK, and they left me a handwritten note about my RSK order being ready soon!

My newest and now most favorite arrived yesterday. My long awaited Sebenza 31 Carbon Fiber. Spectacular. Lighter, the CF scale while smooth, isn't slick like I expected. I still need to cycle it about a thousand times to loosen up the action, but that's the same with any CRK bushing knife. Have a J2H zirconium lanyard delete coming tomorrow. Not a lanyard guy, and not much of a blue guy either, so debating sending it in for (half) a glass blast and a silver stud swap...

This one came yesterday. I like to carry a smaller, lighter knife in the Summer, and my Spyderco Native LWs were all I had. I wanted a solid user, but didn't want to spend alot of money. This fits the bill. 3" blade, and 2.3oz (according to my wife's kitchen scales), and $25. It came sharp, with a smooth even grind, centred blade, & no play. The action is smooth, but a little stiff because it's a back lock. It's gonna get used. Nothing fancy, but if I wanted fancy, I'd have bought something else.

New to me purchased off the exchange, almost embarrassed to say I've bought and sold this knife twice previously. It's like my GF in college I'd breakup to chase something else then miss her and we'd get back together then breakup again because I was a knucklehead. Already ordered a Sharp Dressed Knives Lava Flow carbon insert to dress it up and a new clip from MXG.

Nice price, but yes always a shame to lose a knife store. This one has definitely been on the one of these days list.

A Cold Steel Luzon. Sigh. There's a youngster inside each of us, and Lynne Thompson made toys for them. Every once in a while I give in to the whining.
I have no earthly use for the silly thing, except it puts a grin on my face when it whacks open.

My inner teenager comes knife shopping once in a while. It's why I own a Cold Steel Magnum Tanto XII. A lot of these kinds of knives aren't even that practical for post apocalyptic house and garden pest control...
