Everyone's latest acquisitions!

I think it was worth the price but I know others don’t agree. I’m sure it could take a beating. The mechanism that holds the blade in makes me a little nervous but I’ve not seen any issues of the blade flying out, like with the elementum utility knife.

The orange speedhole version is still available from a few places, diamond texture sold out pretty quick.
Thanks for the reply! I still have a few of the old oversized button lock Milwaukee flipper so when I saw these I thought it might be time for an upgrade.

I’ve tried several utility knives including the Milwaukee fastback button lock and this is the first that I will actually carry. It’s a great size, throw it in your 5th pocket and you’d probably forget about it until you need it.

So this brand new from dealer A Wright and Sons Lambsfoot's spring is SOOOO tight that I broke both thumbnails trying to get it open 😭

I lubricated it with some Tuf-Glide and let it sit, but I could not work it into the blade pivot; and I finally had to go to my tool box for needle nose pliers and wrap the tips with painters tape to grab the blade and pull it out.

The wood is nice, the blade is perfectly centered with no wobble, it's pretty sharp, and there's minimal gaps on the mostly smooth back.

But I am now 99.97% sure I cannot close this knife without cutting the ^%$#@! out of myself doing it. I can return or exchange it, but that means shipping it back to Sheffield England!

Does anyone have suggestions if I do not want to have to go through returning it across the pond? I think I might be able to get the blade into a partially open position with some steel gauntlets on my hands for safety. So, do you think if I left it partially open (there is no half stop) that it would weaken the spring enough to be able to open and close it normally after a while? How long is enough?

Those seem to always be quite stiff to open, not sure how you got both thumbnails in there, but you are cleverer than I am... 😇
for knives like that they make a knife pick which aids in opening blades up, my 'technique' is to insert the pick, hold it steady and move the handle away from the blade, that way you keep the blade under control better. But I had bought one of those folders and just couldn't live with the stout opening and soon after getting it sold it off to someone with thumbnails made of steel ;)

Here's a thread that talks about those knife picks Seen in this thread here

So I was trying to get this "nail breaker" that I posted as new the other week open, using hemostats (most often people use them as a roach clip); but once partly open the super duper HEAVY spring snapped the blade shut on my thumb! I could NOT even open the dang knife to get my thumb out, and had to just pull the knife off my finger!

This time I decided to leave out the blood, and go straight to the SuperGlue shot, but it took over 5 minutes to stop bleeding enough to glue it. Only 2mm of my thumb's tip is numb...

It might be time to part with that rascal, I'm sure there are avid Lambsfoot collectors around here that would be happy to help with that! As they are used to the strong spring that these knives are known for.

It's too bad I like the look and feel of it, and until now I liked the razor sharp edge 🥹 but I think that you are right.

That one of David Mary David Mary is a stunner right there, very direct and aggressive lines ;)

This one arrived today from QSP called the Vault, thumbstud action is solid or just pull back on the Glyde lock which also works flawlessly too. Blade was very keen out of the box.

There wasn't any way to attach a lanyard, but I had noticed that the deep pocket clip had a short section that I figured I could grind in some half moon shapes to act as a way to stop the lanyard from sliding down, worked out pretty nice.

No before shot, just picture those ground out sections still being there ;)

Whipping knot helps to keep the lanyard in place while still allowing it to fold down when the knife is in the pocket

They weren't lying about the Kizer Cormorant being super fidgety. Hate Mojave is closing down, or whatever is happening with them, but I do love a liquidation sale.

Couldn't pass on a S35VN Cormorant for $50 bucks. Just got dropped off around 30 minutes ago..

This won't mean anything to anyone who isn't a fan &/or collector of vintage Kershaws but I just received this in my PO Box today.

It's a Ken Onion designed Kershaw Tyrade (1850G10SW) that fills a gap in my collection of vintage Kershaws. There were other variations of the Tyrade that were made but this is the only one that I wanted. According to the Knife Center, only 900 of this variation were made.

The Tyrade follows (chronologically & in style) the Junkyard Dog series & Rake designed for Kershaw by Tim Gaylean.

From top to bottom in each photo:

1) Junkyard Dog 1 (1720): Dated 11/2007
2) Junkyard Dog 2 (1725BLK): Dated 11/2008
3) Junkyard Dog 2.1 (1728CB): Sawtooth variation
4) Junkyard Dog 2.2 (1728CB): Lollipop variation
5) Rake (1780CB)
6) Tyrade (1850G10SW): Dated 04/2009

All of these knives were likely made between 2007-2009. The Tyrade & Rake are assisted. The Junkyard Dog variations are not. There are also several other variations of the Junkyard Dog 2 using a scale pattern similar (but not identical) to the one on the Junkyard Dog 1.
