* Machinewise Sonora Integral Ti Button Lock. Purple/Blurple Anodized Frame, with Magnacut blade. The action is fantastic for a button lock - I can't make it fail, and it feels like it has a detent ball. Also, it drops shut flawlessly. HRC is 62.5, while all the others in this batch were HRC 63 or 64, oh well...

Just received the Carothers Performance Knives "Basic Field Knife" w/red-brown scales that I purchased last week.

That makes 3 CPKs that I now own.

From top to bottom they are the:

1) DEK1- 3V
2) Basic Field Knife (BFK)- Cruwear (CW)
3) Utility Fighter 1 (UF1) - AEB-L

Couple of spidies landed today, I always regretted getting rid of my old Caribbean, a kind member here sent this one my way along with a ukpk! Completely satisfied with both!

Love the Caribbean. No finger choil, and the grip puts your hand right up to the cutting edge. Great cutting performance, too. IMO it's one of their best designs.

Just got it. It's very heavy, much heavier than the larger looking UF1. Don't plan to use it. So, I can't comment on how CW compares w/other steels but on paper it compares well.
