Everyone's latest acquisitions!

I feel a little disappointed, maybe my expectations were too high. But nevertheless, here's my newly acquired Shirogorov 111 Terrus S90V:

I once collected Shiros quite extensively, and the 111 was my least favorite model- They're just too long for me.
That said, I really like the look of the Terrus. If only it were an inch or so shorter!

Today, however, I'm awaiting delivery of a different Shiro model. One that's new to me, as I haven't purchased one in over 8 years.
Very excited..

Arrived today This beautiful 100% USA hand made in house even the blade hand ground. This guy makes every knife and is a true craftsman. Good knife Company LLC and SFO for BlackWater knife Co.
This one is sold out and called The BoneFish with Slash Pine fat carbon and blue liners.
Pretty excited as you can tell and it’s a well made knife and feels so good in hand. In this combo not many were made don’t have the exact number but glad to have got one. Even the kydex sheath he makes by hand in house .

I don't make too many buying mistakes but I just made a couple & this is one if them. 😕

I bought this Pro-tech Jigged Swat Godfather thinking that it was a plain (un-jigged one).

It's not the end of the world & I actually have a simulated jigged wood Godfather to pair it with.

Too much trouble to return it, so I'll keep it for now. 🤷‍♂️

FWIW, I think that jigged model looks great. It’s a nice disruption of the big, plain slab. I’d be pleased with it.

It came missing stonewash around the pivot and the pivot screw head on the show side isn’t blasted like the one on the lock side. The pivot screw would keep loosening until I applied three coats of lock-tite. Also just seems weird that there is no steel lock bar insert or over travel stop on a $400 plus knife.

I emailed Defiant 7 telling them I’d deal with the poor stonewashed scale but would like a matching pivot screw. Haven’t heard from them and that was two weeks ago. Hopefully they’ll make it right.

Smoothest knife I own though.
If I'm not mistaken, LG carbidizes the lock face instead of using an insert, similar to what CRK does. Tom Krein and several others also do this.

I'm not "unpleased" with it. It just wasn't what I thought I was buying. My fault. 🤷‍♂️

If I really didn't like it at all, it would be on the way back to the seller now!

I just looked for a plain black SWAT model at all the dealer sites that came up in a search, including a couple of others, but it's sold out or not available everywhere I looked. So, I'll just have to keep looking until I luck out & find one. 🤞

PS: I've considered the Operator but I don't need a tritium button & if the button is off axis (just a hair) it would drive me crazy. 🫣
So, no Operator for me. ;)

I was curious if they did. I checked but couldn’t tell if it was carbidized. I don’t mind too much about that or the over travel stop. Mostly just bummed on the QC.

I was pretty excited when my new Hinderer Eklipse harpoon spanto arrived this week. But, I'm not crazy about how the final cutting bevel looks. I have tantos/dual grinds in other brand knives, so I'm not surprised to see a change in the edge at the transition point of the grind change. That transition point is just ugly on this new Hinderer blade. The tip looks like it has a convex edge, but it's hard to see in my crappy pics. Both issues exist on both sides , but the edge is extremely sharp. I have 3 other Hinderers and they came with great looking edges, but none have this blade shape. I'm still pretty new to Hinderer and would appreciate any input from you experienced Hinderer guys.
