Took about a 50 minute drive To Emerson’s show room today. Picked up My Tiger , 45 acp thumb disc, DP Emerson skull clip, Lanyard Skull and 2024 Emerson Christmas Ornament and the girl was kind enough to even hook me up with a 20 dollar off coupon for
My next purchase 👍🏻👊🏻
Was a great trip except I left some of my blood there 😳 was handling another tiger but with orange g10 Handles. Rookie mistake I was admiring the grind and running my finger down the side lightly and man it was sharp I barely must of hit the edge and bam next thing I know I’m bleeding 🩸 all over the floor . Just only about a 1/4 inch slice or less and not very deep but what a bleeder. More embarrassing then anything lol so I know when you cut your self on a new knife it’s now yours so does that mean Emerson’s showroom is mine now to? 😆

My latest incoming -

* @Horsewright Rodeo in AEB-L and Elk antler, with Turquoise Inlay and hand carved flower sheath. It's fantastic and is a twin to my new Ranchero! Dave included a nice small leather business card/credit card wallet too!
* And a @REK Knives Benchmade 940 Sheepsfoot Re-Blade in Magnacut. This was a DIY re-blade this time. Flytanium supplied the purple anodized Ti hardware and clip, plus CF scales. I still need to find a purple Ti pivot if anyone makes them. I included pics of the donor Benchmade 940 that I bought just to get the liners, axis-lock, omega springs, pivot, and stop pin. The used blade was a butter knife that I sharpened up to use for a couple of months, and the scales were dinged up; but I planned to replace them in this build anyways. It was a little rusty inside, but I was able to clean it up with minimal pitting found.

SIZE COMPARISON OF BM 940 TO SHAMAN WITH REK AKHMEDOV FAT CARBON FIBER SCALES AND REK Ti CLIP, WHICH I INSTALLED MYSELF, USING A REC EXCLUSIVE SHAMAN IN DESERT TAN CTS-204P. I'VE CARRIED THE SHAMAN FOR THE PAST FEW DAYS.

This REK 940 Re-blade hasn't left my pocket in almost 2 weeks.

Thanks for the support! Glad that Rodeo made it in time amidst your other shipping woes. Nice pic of them together.

I love the pairing of the Rodeo and Ranchero. Next might be a Sonoran Hunter...

Your firetac needs some love from Pete Gray!View attachment 2724394

What do you think about the new Frag pattern Padua Wood scale (from eBay) that I just installed? I think it beats the stock OD Green G10 by a mile.

That frag scale is beautiful, great snag!

DocJekl DocJekl Glad it arrived safe and sound Doc! As I understand it, to get the brightest and longest lasting glow on those GITD materials, you want to charge it in direct sunlight for at least two hours. Haven't played around with it myself yet (all my demos have been with a few seconds of close up flashlight charging), and maybe you already know more than I do about the GITD stuff, but I just thought I'd share. Thanks again for allowing me to serve you!

Yeah, it's great and sunlight is good for charging the scales. In a pinch I'll use my Olight UV flashlight 🙃

Incoming today!

* BittyRang in Magnacut and GITD Raffir by David Mary David Mary Custom Knives. He gave me two strands of GITD paracord to tie up my own beaded lanyard and neck knife loop.
* Shirogorov F3 in Elmax and Aquamarine Alutex

This rare Kershaw 1056 arrived in the mail from Canada yesterday:

It's a smaller variation of the Kershaw 1050 Field Folder designed by Ichiro Hattori as an adjunct to the Kershaw fixed blade Hunter series.

You can see the 1050 & 1056 compared in the photo below:

There is one other smaller variation of the 1050 that I'd like to find. It's the clip point 1055 that's even rarer & harder to find than the 1056.

This is a stock picture of it:

If anyone has a lead to one, please let me know by DM. Thanks!

Another knife that arrived in my PO Box yesterday was a Spyderco Szabofly VG10 Balisong, which has long been a "grail" knife for me:

Despite its weird appearance & questionable geometry, it flips very well.

I scored it on The Exchange and had to buy a matching Spyderco Spyderfly VG10 Balisong with it. Both have the Collector Club #106 engraved on them.

I previously owned a 440C Spyderfly, so I now have both variations of that bali & if I want to complete my Spyderco bali collection, I'll need to find a 154CM variation of the Szabofly. However, the VG10 version of both knives is the rarer version.

In any event, this is what my Spyderco balisong collections looks like now:

I also previously owned a S30V SmallFly2 but did not like its blade shape. Should have kept it for completeness but I sold it. Could still buy another but I just don't like it
