Been years since I bought a brand new Emerson. This is the Com-Seven. Mini Commander blade, CQC7 handles (kinda). Handles have a little more dynamics in the guard and butt, but not too bad. I like a very neutral handle and love the Commander blade shape, so this was a knockout for me. Not to mention it's Magnacut in purported 62-64RC. Fantastic action and lockup. That's what pleasantly surprised me the most. They're not resting on laurels over there. Huge improvements since last time I checked in.

Could be a new pajama knife in the house …
I stumbled on this little guy on the ‘Zon and kinda like the blade shape more for what I use it for than the Atmos (light duty, opening mail and packages, carrying around in my pajamas). It’s called the Appa and is the cheapest Kershaw I’ve ever seen. I wish it were the same dimensions as the Atmos (it’s 1/4” shorter each in the blade and the handle and feels just a hair lighter), but it’s still perfectly usable. Action was a little bit stiff out of the box, including a touch of lock stick, but that’s almost all smoothed out now after a bit of fidgeting. The votes aren’t in yet on whether it will take over regular couch duty, or maybe it will share with the Atmos. The Atmos is a nicer piece, though the Appa’s action is actually smoother; if only the Atmos or something just like it came with a reverse tanto blade, it’d be no contest. Still it’s a nice little knife for $18 … and actually a more funner fidgeter. Added a pic next to the Atmos for size reference.
