Buck of the Month Dec. 2024 (#212)

Well, I did it again - my next last knife. I couldn’t decide on a Buck Range Elite or a Buck Range Pro or a TRM Bulldog, so I bought a Kizer Spitfire. Fairly recent release, I’m seeing. There are 5 variations, but the blue hardware on this one is the one that called to me. Build quality and f&f are excellent. Action is super smooth; easy to thumb flick or slow-roll open; lockup is tight but easy to release; zero wobble anywhere; not quite drop-shutty, but close, which is just how I like it. Blade is perfectly centered and razor sharp out of the box. This is gonna be a nice carry for under $100.

First off, I'm new here and its wonderful to meet yall!

I've been carrying a Civivi Trailblazer for a year now (including work, I'm a hardware store manager so I use my knife everyday). I'm kind of an old man at heart and really enjoy slip joints so its been hard to get the trailblazer out of my pocket. However, recently It's hit me how slow it is to open and close.. I mean, I always knew it was a slow knife but there's some situations where one handed open is going to save a lot of time..

It's my 30th birthday (technically tomorrow) so I decided to bite the bullet and buy myself a Benchmade Bugout. We sell them at work and thought that a Bugout is a good "vanilla" knife and a good introduction to benchmades line up. It was the Bugout (crater blue) or the Spyderco Delica (zome), I opted for the Bugout because I would probably need to wait another year before there's a good enough excuse to spend that much on a knife at one time! Don't worry, the last couple of pictures made me realize that I also need that Delica.

So far, really liking it. There are aspects of a lightweight knife that I didn't understand until actually carrying it. I went out in basketball shorts and the bugout disappeared in my pocket. Clipped perfectly fine to the thin material. My Trailblazer and gym shorts didn't play well at all..

I'll give more details when I put the Bugout through a truck day at work! ;) I apologize for not posting pictures! I will next time!

TL;DR - Got a Benchmade Bugout

You chose well! Welcome to the forum.

Just be warned - there will be more. They multiply, and there’s little we can do about it. 😁
