Everyone's latest acquisitions!

First Hinderer... so far I like it a lot, definitely has a heavy duty feel. This one is a Gen 5 Knife Art exclusive “foundry gear”. Teflon washers have been swapped for pb. Flips super smooth.

View attachment 984871 New handle with old blade. Handle is Buck Collector’s Club 30th Annivesary Aluminum 110. It is assembled with screws so that blades can be swapped out. Also a variety of handle inserts are available. This one is olive drab linen Micarta. The blade is a custom Stellite 6-K. The composition is about 1/2 Chrome and 1/2 Cobalt. Incredible wear and corrosion resistance.

I was wondering how you’d feel about the knife when you got it. Looks like you’re happy with it. Any other thought on it?
My Sebenza insingo arrived today. I’m happy

It’s nice and comfortable in hand, even choking up on the choil. I wear xl gloves and I worried the choil would be unusable. I searched high and low for a gen 5 sheepsfoot, I finally find one and bam they release the gen 6 sheepsfoot. Oh well I didn’t really care about the tri way pivot that much anyway. This one flies out like its on bearings with the pb washers. Overall I think it’s awesome! I love the 20cv and the build quality is top notch. I won’t be replacing my CRK’s but I will buy more Hinderers.

My sentiments, exactly. I go back and forth rotating the ones I have. Best of both worlds. Sometimes you need a bigger and thicker blade and sometimes you want a slicer.

A few arrivals this week:
  • T.M. Hunt Billy Bad Axe: I would like this more if I didn’t have the Graham Hawkit which is more versatile.
  • Three Rivers Manufacturing Nomad: This is a really neat small, modern slipjoint. The springs are cut into the tops of the Ti liners and pop up past the scales when the blade opens/closes. This means they can’t move when the knife is gripped for use (at least not easily) so it’s very secure, kind of like a reverse friction folder.
  • Microtech Siphon II Pen: I stumbled upon this at a local shop and fell for the unique design. It’s certainly not the most comfortable pen for extended use but it’s fun to use and is definitely a conversation starter.
Shown with my constant companion small Sebenza & another neat modern slipjoint, the Hinderer XM Slippy.
