Everyone's latest acquisitions!

The knife is about a year old, but wanted to show the sheath because it is so great. Varusteleka Jääkäri (Ranger) 140 - knife with a custom sheath I just got from the maker. It has a dangler carry, but that can be detached and the sheath fitted wit all kinds of carry options. The fit and finish of the sheath is so good it would be ridiculous to demand any better. The knife is also great especially considering the price.

I recently bought this Boker/Nealy collaboration knife from a collector. I wonder if it would be a good idea to make this into a project? I had in mind to make a katana-style (tsuka-ito) handle wrap with two colors of gutted paracord. I have done that to a sword handle and like the grip it offers, it would also in my opinion fit the style. The sheath is a bit strange, rattly and the only thing holding the knife in place is a magnet inside the sheath.

Two Lionsteel Mytos arrived yesterday. I pick up the bronze titanium and natural micarta versions. Both of mine came with good action and centered blades. There is a little learning curve at first to adjust to the small removable flipper tab on the Myto. You have to use the middle of your index finger to flip the knife open. That is the only real grip I have with the knife. Fit and finish has exceeded my expectations for the knife. The crowned spine is a very nice touch.

Had the pleasure of visiting the local knife store, (about an hour away), which has a sizable collection of knives, and I had a $50 gift certificate (coupon) burning a hole in my pocket since Christmas, and walked out with a new cordura sheath for my Boker Scout, a champagne Alox SAK Classic, and a micarta Buck 110 slim pro....
Action on the Buck is a bit stiff but should wear in...

Also bought a new blue suit today w/ a 2 year old men's warehouse gift certificate I had sitting in my email.

I'm still waiting on a few knives, so just a couple for you today. Both of these actually arrived a few days ago, but I didn't have time to post. It gave me a chance to get some first impressions made though. :)

This first one is a Fox Knives Yaru in blue stonewashed titanium and S90V steel. I freaking love this knife. The blade stock is a bit thicker than I prefer, but other than that, the entire package blows me away. Super smooth action, with a really nice lockup, and it closes with a nice authoritive click. It has a steel lockbar insert with an overtravel stop, ceramic detent and ceramic retention ball for the pocket clip. The pocket clip, backspacer, and hardware are all titanium, and the hardware has been anodized blue, which I thought was a nice touch. To top it off, S90V is one of my favorite steels. Other than thinner stock, I just can't see how Fox Knives can improve upon this guy. It's pretty great.

Next is the BladeHQ exclusive Civivi Elementum in green canvas Micarta and S35VN steel. This version features .10" blade stock instead of .12" like with the regular Elementum, on top of using S35VN instead of D2... So I was really hoping this one would hold my interest a little bit more than the standard Elementum. I just can't seem to get over the liner lock. I just don't really like them. As snobby as it sounds, lately, I've just been less and less interested in sub $100 knives unless they are going to be work knives.

The fit and finish on this guy is great, as is the action. Pretty typical of the Civivi's I've had experience with. They sure can make a great knife for the money.

And last is the piece of DamaCore I ordered. Pretty unassuming for a $500+ piece of steel, lol.

The Quiet Carry Drift 2 and Benchmade Mini Freek S90V/CF should be in on Friday, as should the SpydieChef and Kizer Feist I sent in for custom work. :) I think the MagnaCut Benchmade Mini Osborne and Damasteel Delica Wharncliffe are going to be a bit longer.

I received these amazing blades recently from friends and great generous members here on BF's-
gifts from VPK78 and PeteyTwpPointOne both gifted to me after learning my (Nurse) wife has Stage 4 Lung Cancer.
Thank you both!
These knives will never leave my side!
Much appreciated Sir(s)!

Those gift certifs/coupons come in handy! Good on you for making use prior to expiration. And if your Buck is anything like mine it will be smooth as silk in a couple of weeks.

Nice Yaru! Almost pulled the trigger on that, but then I found a Biblio.
