Had some really great ones come in recently!
First up is an OUTSTANDING sheath made by
Lorien
. I wanted a way to carry a DMT Coarse/Fine Diamond sharpener with my 3V CPK Kephart, and he really, really came through! I'd better not hear "but how will you sharpen it in the field" ever again, lol. Lorien also made the DMT pouch removable and also put in a loop for my FireROD. I can tell a lot of thought and work went into this sheath, and I think it really shows.
Next was to come in was a PF949X Warrior by Petrified Fish. This knife caught me completely off guard. The quality to price ratio is astronomical. I would easily put this up there with the Civivi Elementum as one of the best values currently on the market. Seriously. I opted for the upgraded version with
contoured carbon fiber and still spent under $50 shipped. Insane. Fit and finish is excellent. The primary grind on the knife is better than the grind on some of the $150 - $200 knives I own. That's really been putting some things in perspective for me, lol. The action is excellent. Snappy and smooth. The deep carry pocket clip is a nice addition, as is the black hardware, and simple branding. No giant billboards here! K110/D2 is perfectly fine for the price.
The knife came in simple, but nice packaging... But the real nice touch was inside. Not only do they bundle the knife with a microfiber cloth, lanyard, and a nicely made dog tag... But they also throw in a full set of silver hardware in case you want to swap out the black hardware. Awesome!
If you haven't checked out the offerings by Petrified Fish, you really should. They're really doing some things right! I think they are going to be my new "go-to" brand when introducing friends and co-workers to good quality, well-priced knives. Big shout out to
Gary W. Graley
for turning me on to the brand! Without his recommendation for one of their other knives, I never would have given them a second thought.
Next is the Kansept Gremlin. Nice little knife! Emphasis on little, lol. With a 2.9" blade, I was expecting it to be just a little larger in the hand, but the handle is rather petite. They were able to fit quite a bit of blade in a very small package. With a 3.58" blade, I thought the Gremlin's older brother (the Sprite) would be too large, but I'm thinking I probably should have gone that way. To be honest though... As nice of a knife as it is (great action, great fit and finish, solid grind, great pocket clip, etc), I can't help to find it a little boring.

I'll give it some time to see if it grows on me, because it really is a well made knife. I could do without the recurve though...
And last but not least... A Case Half-Whittler in Autumn (red/orange) Maple Burl and CV Damascus steel! The weather is crap lately, and I don't feel like braving it for pics in natural light, so these will have to do for now. They really don't do the knife justice though, so I'll try to get some better pics another time. The burl is really gorgeous!
