Definitely a keeper.

New member and first post. Just got into more knives lately, and I am starting to feel the addiction :D.

Just got my CS Trailmaster 3V. I have a Trailmaster San Mai I got a few months ago, and comparing the two, they are two totally different blades!

The San Mai on the right is a convex grind and extremely sharp. The 3V is a flat grind, and the swedge is longer and way sharper than the San Mai's.

Came in this morning! Dope 52100 chopper from G.L. Drew 😁 looks like an old Woodsman's Pal but without the dumb safety tip, chisel ground bill hook, and the blade starts where it should rather than way up the stock like 3". He put a taper on it (love that), and the handle is an improvement as well. Overall he fixed everything I didn't like about the original.

Got some yard work this is perfect for.. funky vines and some weird branches to get rid of.

I can't wait to try this billhook out. Gonna get this thing shaving and slam on some stuff either today or tomorrow. Thing is solid 👌 16645552584213530778284401656766.jpg16645551832203201327475677781947.jpg16645558135791283533807805600861.jpg16645556285793107374218514076471.jpg

David Mary David Mary , are you seeing this?

How does that steel hold up as far as patina and sharpness?
I am considering that type of steel for a build. Btw what is it called ?

It was described as "Coppered Damascus".

I honestly have not used it yet, only had it for about a week and haven't been doing anything except working. Another couple weeks and I get a weekend in the woods, I'll get back to you.

As far as patina, I can't tell you long-term yet. But there is a lot going on - it has texture besides the copper, and there's also a hamon. I'm not sure, but I'm thinking it will be interesting.
