Everyone's latest acquisitions!

DocJekl DocJekl ’s world domination tour continues, lol…. :D

I dunno, but there are many who are possibly beating me, like Terry M. and others... (although I count 6 coming by the weekend, unless 1 is delayed, with 5 more on preorder arriving in the coming months.)

Alrighty then. Here is what came in today. I'll start with the main attraction.

I went online the other day to buy and a Naked TRM Atom on which to install my brand new Titanium Scales, so that I could leave the lime green Atom alone as a user (or to install the upgraded green patterned micarta scales on the lime green Atom). While I was online I saw that for only $60 more there was a TRM Atom in Blue Denim Micarta and 20CV steel. So I bought the Blue Denim one instead.

Then I posted here that they were still in stock, and soon after that FOMO got ahold of me; so I went back and bought the Naked Atom too. Thirty minutes later the blue denim models were sold out, and maybe a day later the naked ones were sold out too.

So today, I spent some time assembling the naked Atom with Ti scales, and worked on centering the lime green Atom, saving the upgraded micarta scales for some other day. I guess I got a little carried away, but I'm 90% certain I'll probably end up buying 1-2 more Naked Atom in the future, just too use up my remaining scales and extra screws and pocket clips, etc...

Fortunately I bought zipper pouch to store the knife, instead of storing it in th plastic tube, but I bought too many pocket clips, as the naked knife comes with a standard clip that actually fits the Titanium scales better.

The next post will have the Blue Denim Micarta version...

The other three that came in today were all budget flipper knives I can beat on or use as gifts.

The CJRB Riff button lock in AR-RPM9 steel and micarta scales is pretty sturdy compared to all the Pyrite and Ekko models (even my Ti or CF models), and feels like it could so some heavy work. The action is great, blade very sharp, plus the fit, finish, and ergonomics are good. I really like it a lot.

The Ruike P801 Flipper is a steel frame lock with with 14c28n Sandvik blade steel. The frame switches between silver and slight gold hue in color, with blue thumb studs and deep carry clip. Very sharp, well made, but a bit heavier than the others due to bigger steel frame (definitely heavier than a Pyrite or Ekko).

And the Ontario Knife Co Ti22 Blurple Titanium frame lock flipper with tanto in Aus-8 blade steel. The Titanium frame lock seems to shift between blue and purple, depending on how the light hits it. Very light but sturdy, sharp, and ergonomic. The finish is not as good on the micro details as the other knives.

I considered pre-ordering an iMamba in green kudu bone, but had a few hangups. I really wish they would make a version with full kudu/warthog tusk/scales instead of inlays. That and a better steel than RWL-34. U may still buy one next year, but that's what stopped me. I just don't care much for Ti framelocks anymore. I have sold or given away all but my two favorites.

I started with a Plain Jane preorder, and then pre-ordered the Blue Kudu only after I got to try the PJ and decided I liked it.

I really like the T6. I have a number of Lionsteels and interestingly enough, the T6 cuts better than all of them. It outslices my T5, M7, M4 and even my M1. The only one that does as well is my M2M. Lionsteels have a reputation for being overly thick behind the edge and not being good cutters and some of my Lionsteels do suffer from this but not the T6. Which is odd because it’s the most robust and overbuilt looking one of the bunch
