Kershaw Highball XL titanium/S35VN. Neck and neck with the 940 for favorite EDC folder now. Very flat profile, nice deep clip, smooth action and lockup. Only thing I didn't like was lack of a thumb-stud, but I crimped on a pair of brass knocking points and they answer quite well.

Dude... Nice idea with crimping on the brass knocking points! I bought a few Kwikstuds for knives that I wanted a thumbstud on, but that's a damn good and innovative idea.

Thanks! Wanted something a little lower profile. Spent about 45 minutes trying to machine something out of a 1/4" brass bolt. It was loose when I finally slid it on and I had to crimp it to keep it in place. Wasn't pleased with the final product, but the crimping made me think of archery nocking points, and I love the way they turned out. Using a smoother crimper of doing a final Dremel polish would clean them up, but knife is gonna be a user so I'm not too picky.

I got my plague doctor lanyard from Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley and it’s fabulous!

I’m trying it out as a removable lanyard for now, but for a little better hand position I’m thinking about removing one of the rear standoffs and putting the stand-off through the loop. I’d use the whipping knot thread that Gary included in order to keep it tight around the spacer and away from the blade.

DocJekl:

If you remove a standoff, wouldn't that weaken the design? That could lead to a failure or injury.

Not an expert.

Maybe someone could recommend a better idea?

Fantastic knife and lanyard BTW...

I believe what he is trying to say is, he will remove the standoff so he could put the loop around it and re-install the standoff back, otherwise he wouldn't be able to get the lanyard loop around the standoff itself.
And then he will use some thread to tie a whipping knot to keep the lanyard under control and out of harms way

Oh! Ok!

That could work if the right thread count were used.

The right cotton(flexibility) and nylon(strength) blend could work.

What are you using in this scenario?

"A lot of long words in there, Delgadonie, We are naught but humble pirates. What is it that you want?"
;)

but the paracord is 550 and the thread sent with it was 1.2mm Ritza Tiger thread, waxed polyester, quite strong and tough!

similar to how I did this lanyard for one of my knives, nice knife too

That sounds great!

My Spartan Harsey Folders ( a Large and a Small) are amongst the best constructed in my collection. I don't have lanyards for either. Not my style. Though seeing these posts, I may have to rethink my style. Lanyards that bring out a Matchbox, Nascar, style.

My SHFL is all black.
My SHFS is all stonewashed.

Blue, Red and Yellow...

I'd have to describe it better than this.

Exactly as Gary says. Where I wrote, "removing one of the rear standoffs and putting the stand-off through the loop" < I thought it implied that the standoff was reinstalled after "putting it through the loop", but I guess I wasn't clear 🤔
