I keep seeing people mention that the owner or owners of strider are ex-cons or something. What is the story behind this company? Thanks

Aunt Ruthie is honest about admitting her little adventures are only in her head.

Strider & Dwyer, not so much. :thumbdn:

Is there such thing as a truly honest man? Who here has never lied in their entire lives? I'm not saying what they did was right, infact I find it disgusting that anyone would lie about anything they did or didn't do in the service. Just being in the service is enough. Even though I'm disgusted with what they lied about, I will not put that into account when judging the quality of their knives that I own. I only own two Strider folders, but they are awesome blades that I enjoy very much. Everyone stretches the truth and everyone straight out lies sometimes. Everyone.

Mickey Burger glamorized his service instead of stating the facts. Then, further glorified his "history" to establish credibility for marketing and self-angrandizement. He would have been better off stating he was in the Army, served in 1/75, spent some time in prison and then relied on the quality of his knives to make his name. But...then there would have been no spectacle.

As a vet, I find his actions dispicable. All the pussyfooting/justifying aside...it is BS. Damned fine knives...too bad theyre tainted by association with the maker.
