Explain Strider to a newbie please.

Everyone lies, and some people refuse to hold the liars accountable. Hey, what's the big deal, some guys put their lives on the line, some guys made it up, at least the knives look cool and we can all feel really badass when we hold them.

Well, I could if I for a second would consider owning them.

The convicted felon thing didn't really bother me too much, I know a couple of guys who have been jailed but they are still pretty sound guys.

The lying and especially the subsequent "I don't give a monkeys what you think" after they got grabbed did bother me though. A poor show indeed.

They drink Guiness beer, make super tough folders and of late some really good looking tactical type customs and

unless there is something new have been "discussed" over and over and over and over again.

You could try some of the other Forums, maybe even try theirs and ask this question to them directly.

I did not think so..................................

Is there such thing as a truly honest man? Who here has never lied in their entire lives? I'm not saying what they did was right, infact I find it disgusting that anyone would lie about anything they did or didn't do in the service. Just being in the service is enough. Even though I'm disgusted with what they lied about, I will not put that into account when judging the quality of their knives that I own. I only own two Strider folders, but they are awesome blades that I enjoy very much. Everyone stretches the truth and everyone straight out lies sometimes. Everyone.

I try to be truthful, even when I tell the story about being shot a couple of times by a 30-06 and pinned down in the middle of a road for well over two hours as my police car was struck over 170 times. I remain honest when I said that this terrible 15 year old gunman fired close to 600 rounds of high powered rifle ammo over a 6 hour period. I would never think of telling fibs, stories, or tales:p:D....................at all

So not everyone lies, only wannabes, wished-I-was-a-SWAT hero type, and ex-military types who wished they were Spec Ops or sniper types.

As for me; I live in the boonies and never ever lie about my past deadly encounters:D

8. If you don't like their lack of integrity, don't reward them.

Someone above indicated everyone makes mistakes. This is true. Not everyone admits their mistakes. ...and each time I need a new tactical knife, I find one by a reputable maker with integrity.

sometimes folks just hit the nail on the head..............

i really like the folders and the FB's are good too but imho a bit overpriced, sure wish the owners would have given some thought to consequnces of some of there actions but hey what can i say?

personally, for me, next time i want a folder like they offer i am probably gonna go with hinderer but that doesnt mean there stuff isnt top notch.

all the strider hate is because of actions of mick and duane not that anything is at all wrong with there stuff.

You know I told myself I was not going to post in this thread because I've been there done that before and it was so redundant it made little sense to take part but I can't help myself here Ren. In my opinion this is probably the best post I've ever read from your keyboard. You're quite impressive when you want to be! :D

This should be the standard quote stuck in the first reply posted by the super mods whenever this topic comes up again from now on and close the thread afterwards because it covers all of it!

I disagree, these guys took a piss on Special Operations by making claims of being Special Operations when they were not. By claiming to be Combat Vets they placed themselves in a category of honor that neither earned.

I can understand why teenagers would believe their stories and even put up with their excuses after they were outed by military documentation and confirmation from within the Active Military.

I do have to ask myself this about anyone over 18 involved, what kind of worm would still support these two after what they have done?

7. Over all if you like their knives
then have a look around and see what other knives you might like before you make up your mind. There are a lot of knives on the market, from a lot of knifemakers and manufacturers. Buy whatever you want from whomever you want to buy from, and support whomever you think deserves your support.

I personally do not consider the way in which makers conduct themselves meaningless, but understand the folks who do not weigh that in their considerations.

They are good knives. I would not say they are "the best" since that is a pretty silly statement.

A lot of folks make good knives. A few do it with a little or even a lot of B.S. mixed in to appeal to some people, but most do it with honesty and even a little humility when they have in reality achieved greatness.

I will say that the most talented makers I know, just let their work speak for itself.

What about their "liar" status? Is that current or "Ex" at this point in time? Perhaps adding a numer 8 would help.

8. Knifemaking skills rivaled only by storytelling ability.

threads like this are amusing...

What's even more amusing to me is how a few people involved in these threads have tried to intimate that there should be some sort of posting limit on this topic. They use the "beating a dead horse" angle to try and embarrass knife collectors who do want to make a comment. It's as though we're all suppose to believe that we have somehow magically reached a discussion saturation point on the topic of these two posers, neither one of whom appears to have ever shown any remorse whatsoever for their actions and whose knives are still in the market.

I guess now some want us to believe, for some inexplicable reason, that we all risk looking foolish when talking about the two scam artists. Meanwhile, their specially "designed from experience" special forces knives are being peddled to unsuspecting fools who still believe in a knife company's high-speed military image whose reputation and success was deliberately built on a criminally fraudulent foundation by each of the two supposed "warriors" who stole their self-proclaimed valor from the real men who in fact did serve their country in that capacity.

Yeah, I want a Strider.......sure I do.
