Extreme Duty or Investigator?

I used the investigator for over a year with no o-rings and is was a little rough after extended writing. I added orings to the pen, 10 on all groves plus one on the ends of each cap thread. It's way more comfortable now, I regret not making the move sooner. The pen also stays clipped in my pocket better now as well. There was a few close calls where I almost lost it and just happened to see it laying on the ground.

I know you've posted it before, but it's a #5 O-Ring for investigator?

I used Buna #10 O-rings. They worked great, the specs are: Buna O-rings 1/4" ID - 3/8" OD - 1/16" CS - #10 O-rings

Sweet, I was just about to ask the same question about the o-rings. Thanks for posting the info and link to the prior thread!

I have O rings on all of mine, helps the feel and they look good too, especially on the SS.

O-rings are not a necessity but it's neat that they are a simple option for those that see a value / need / want in adding them.

I got my brass investigator today. It is awesome! Better than I expected and I am very happy with the size and weight. The quality of the machining is unbelievable. This will be a great edc along side my new slicer. I will post some pictures tomorrow. Thanks again Rob O.!

Added some o-rings to my copper today. I'm torn, I like the feel but they cover up the cool patina in the grooves

Thanks! That was supposed to say brass not bronze. The brass is my only investigator and I haven't held a bronze one. I can tell you that I love the weight and feel of the brass one though. It's perfect in my opinion for edc. I would hate to get poked with that sucker!

Ah, rog.. Looks nice! I'm digging the feel of the copper one I just got. I really like the look of the bronze and flame ano ones, they're pretty much on the wish list :)

For what it's worth here's how I EDC the Investigator in SS. I'd love to get the original copper rather than the forced patina as well.

Computer mouse for scale.

My EDC without the watch. I carry the Leatherman CS for the very handy spring loaded scissors, screwdrivers and tweezers, and the Fenix e15 for its 170 lumens at only $26. (Ill eventually get something better in titanium for the keychain.)

I've had my brass investigator for a month now. I don't know how I got along without it. I absolutely love it. Today I reached in my pocket to grab it and the clip and cap were attached to my pocket but the pen was gone! I had the o ring on and everything but the 2 or 3 threads that hold the cap to the pen must have come unscrewed. Must have fallen out of my pocket when I sat down. I looked everywhere but someone must have found it and kept it. Ugh!!! I'm so pissed. At least it wasn't my wharnie in my other pocket I guess. :(

Keep a good thought .... retrace the ol' steps. Look in the car, bathroom, anywhere you may have sat down.
Don't be afraid to go and ask "Hey, did you find a pen".

Thanks rubi. I'll keep looking. I pretty much have it narrowed down to when I got out of my truck this am at my kids sitters. Where I parked is used as a bus stop for the middle school/ high school kids later in the morning. I fear that it is probably gone. Probably being used to write "for a good time call _____. " on a bathroom wall. :)

Considering the powers of observation of todays youth - I hope that's where it got dropped.
Definately conduct a thorough sweep of that AO ASAP.
I have a good feeling :)
