Sounds fun! I saw a muzzle loader for sale the other day and thought it would be nice to have one. When I was in Boy Scouts I worked at a camp with a rifle range and we used to have a lot of fun shooting them.

I took the day off yesterday and had a great birthday! I should have a good day in the shop today.

I ordered a piece of bullseye (raindrop) damascus yesterday, that will be fun as well. :D

Morning all, wind and rain here. Daniel, you were up early. You must be chomping at the bit to get to the
grinder, lol. Coffee sounds good.

Morning fellas. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the hunting season and colder weather. Time for more coffee..:D

Morning, sun's out but it's cooling down. Been to warm to much hunting lately. I know a bunch
of people around here are glad the cooler weather is coming. Coffee....mmmm.

Morning guys. As far as the cold goes you guys can come to my place if you get too warm! I do hope to get some snowboarding in.

I took the day off from knifemaking for the most part yesterday and ran errands. I did manage to make a sheath in the evening in a whole new style.

The sheath is just about the coolest thing I have made as far as sheaths go, it is probably lighter than Kydex, stronger and less prone to scratching, great retention too. Leather over metal liner construction. It's for the glow tanto. Pics soon...

Cold, windy, and raining here. Supposed to be ok tomorrow though, might go to the NYCKS in the afternoon.

daniel- new sheath pics! sounds weird.. metal liner? how's that work?! metal on steel knife.. O_O

gooey- you need to be my proxy for that knife show :D too many makers there I wish I could check out and make a few purchases from... get some pics of key tables :D

That's exactly what I thought but the liner is Aluminum, softer than steel so it won't scratch it at all. So far I think it is as good or better than kydex but time will tell.

The light weight and slim size really sells me on the concept, pics soon I was in the shop until late.

The late Phill Hartsfield, one of my favorite knife makers ever made sheaths in this style.

Someone posted in the knifemaker's forum that they had some aircraft aluminum sheets, and did not know what to do with them. I suggested that he stack them and use them for handle scales, and if they could be bent, make some sheaths.

Thinking back about the Havok, I was entertaining the idea of having a kydex sheath wrapped in leather...and then Mrs Fairly starts making leather sheaths. It's a sign.

Morning men.

Bigcountry that's a lot of snow! We get a ton here, the year before last my house got covered up past the top of the windows, that wasn't fun. I'm still hoping for a mild winter as far as snow goes but it is cold so far!

My shared "driveway" is 2.5 miles long and is not maintained, it can get interesting in the winter...

I finished up a bunch of sheaths for Ti knives yesterday, a S7 tanto will be coming up soon as well as the Ti. I'll get grinding the scales on the Havok and the EDC Proto batch today.

I hope you are enjoying the NYC show Gooeytek! I have been working on the Havok today and am about to go grind some more! :D

I was able to get what I wanted. Drove through regular traffic, and then NYC traffic, and then did it all over again on the way back, just to get this:

Jeremy Horton folder in CPM-D2 & Titanium :)

That rocks! A folder from J would be worth the price plus 100 trips through NYC traffic! Very nice score! Too cool...
