Yea, I lucked out. He had sold all of his folders, and everything else except for 4 knives on Thursday night, even before the show started! This was one he was going to keep for himself, but I guess he felt sorry for me :)

Oh man you picked up one of his folders.. I hate you :D That one looks good... nice snag.. what else was looking sexy there??

I am glad both of you did well! it sounds like Jeremy rocked the show and you got the coolest thing there!

Brian Fellhoelter had a very impressive selection. I love those folders he makes, they are so smooth. Pat Crawford had a monster wharnie folder that I was seriously trying to resist, and it's a good thing I was able to walk away, as I my favorite blades are wharnies & poons. Rockstead had some crazy stuff there, but damn expensive. There were Striders everywhere, as with Sebenzas, some Lionsteel SR-1's, a monster-sized Emerson Commander, Darrel Ralph's new Gunhammer version available with a stainless damascus san mai wrapped around a stellite core, housed in 3-D textured flamed titanium damascus.

There were also a bunch of fixed blades from Bob Dozier, Pohan Leu, and Arno Bernard that I really liked, but I was there for a particular folder.

The best knife I handled though, was not from a knifemaker or dealer display. Jeremy Horton's friend brought a Brad Southard folder that put to shame anything I held there, except maybe Brian Fellhoelter's wharnie folder that uses the same pivot.

Very cool! Brian Fellhoelter does some amazing work on his folders. I might have gotten a Pohan Leu knife if I was there, I love his work and he is a great guy. Of course a Horton knife would be at the top of the list too! It would have been tough!

I wonder what kind of pivot they use, I'm going to have to find out. I think a good strong pivot is key for a good folder.

Timascus... I thought of using some for a folder or a carbidized knife, anybody want a really nice necker? :D

Cool to hear about the show Gooeytek!

I think they use some kind of modified IKBS system. The knife Jeremy's friend had was a Tozer I think.

I looked that up and it looks like the same pivot concept I have in mind! Ball bearings rock.

I have been working on the Havok for the last two days and it is nearly finished, it is time for a sheath and then final polishing!!! I want to get some photos soon.

there's a roller bearing setup on usaknifemaker that I am thinking of getting. The 1/4" pivot & bearings cost less than $8 for each set, and the counterbore to recess the bearings is around $35 I think. The bearings are 11/16" in diameter, so you would need about 9mm between the linerlock/framelock and center of the pivot to accomodate it.

Did I send you that link? :D ;) That is the system I mentioned when we were talking folders, it sounds excellent!

Morning guys, I'm up early again today and hope to get out there soon.

ETA on shop "groundbreaking" - 2 weeks if things go well!!! It pays to discover. :D

Been looking at it for a while actually, Daniel. I was going to replace the pivot on some of my favorite folders with that system, but I don't have a drill press yet and don't want to screw anything up. Maybe a knifemaker that has the tools can do the mods... :)

Cool! I was just kidding but that is the pivot I have been looking at. Maybe one day I will do some folder mods. :D

It is snowing like crazy here, huge flakes are coming down.

I have been working on the EDC Proto run the last couple of days and they are getting closer!

Morning men .All the new stuff coming out of your shop I need more money.

lol me too. :D :D :D I crack myself up.

Seriously though I will have a 3 EDC Proto's available soon, they are 9" long and made from 3/16" O1 steel. For the handles I have MCAM, Black/grey/coyote brown camo and my own black burlap/copper-carta.

I just ordered about 6 million dollars worth of kydex.

It's stormy here today, I got a photo from my shop while it cleared up for a second.

I miss stepping outside in the forest. You've a nice view there.

Black burlap/copper-carta? Uh-oh...do I need to place another order now?
