It's a little under 5.5" long. The holes are 3/8" ...huge! I have some 3/8" Titanium I'll use for the flared tube.

Thanks! I'll get some more soon. It's 5160 steel, I have it soaking in vinegar to remove the scale. It's funny the scale will destroy a new ceramic belt but an overnight soak will eat most of it away.
I tried the paper in my heat treat envelopes like you mentioned, can't wait to see what they look like!
It's the acid in the vinegar. You can ues vinegar to clean a lot of things. Most people don't think of it as a cleaning agent.
Blew coffee on my sleeve; threw my arm up just in time to protect the keyboard!
IMW: we can't discuss that here....or even alum & honey....or other concoctions, used to clean 'things'.
Good day Sir.
she is a nice one.
I'm not much on skinning blades, but I do like that one.
Will email you,next!
Much appreciated!
Thanks! I have been wanting to do a skinner for a while, David Boye made some cool ones back in the day and I wanted to try one resembling the lines he used.
Have been racking my feeble brain cell, trying to figger out what the blade shape reminded me of!
Got ya! Sounds cool!
And the reason I asked about one with a longer handle was; big clumsy paws....plus if the handle was slightly longer, it could be used to split kindling, in a pinch!
Just my opinion....you design 'em; I'll admire 'em....and own all I can!
Actually, I can see that one being very useful in the kitchen. Triming fat off steaks and such, maybe makin' fillets.![]()
Afternoon men.I am glad to be back home in the North woods
I think it would be a useful one for sure. I put sort of a scandi chisel grind on it, the grind runs right to the edge so it is almost an extension of the hand.
I tried the paper in my tool wrap when I heat treated my last batch, great tip! They came out as clean as could be.
