And the UPS truck has been and gone... With my stuff still listed as "out for delivery".

Things just grind to a halt at the city limits.

I'm doing a Yeti-actuated PVC tube, too. Or maybe just a big cheapass plastic thing from Wallyworld. Some dude on Youtube seemed to get really nice results.

I figure, if someone on Youtube does it, that guarantees safety and reliability. Next, Nitroglycerin!

ummm.. Fact! :D

Not quite, the contractor and I were working on it earlier, I just got back in from crawling in the attic all day. We have about one more day of work and then it will be ready! It's a 20x20' space with lots of power, lights and windows. Gonna build a bunch of workbenches once the power is done.

Nice! that will be cool...

Good morning y'all. coffee is brewin' and the eggs are cookin' . Making a new knife for myself . I am trying out a LH convex chisel zero grind. have a good one!

Morning! :D sounds good

We yak like womenz.
lmao!!!

I hope you get your gear soon!

Rolf you should have seen it by now.

I'll wait to post up my drawing, I still need to refine a few things on it.

Well, today I did somthing every guy has done, I looked at something I've never done before and said to myself, "I can do that!" Well, turns out I managed to get something resembling my initial goal out of it. I decided to make Brandi a ring for mothers day. I had some .999 fine silver kickin around the shop and figured I would give it a try. I'll post pictures later, Brandi just got home and I don't want her to know about it yet.

Well since Ellen is on, Brandi is fully engrossed in the TV. Here is just a quick pic of the ring. I still have a lot moe work to do to it, filing, shaping, filing, sanding, buffing. Thinking about having a local jeweler set some saphires in it, that's Zylers birth stone.

Well, not knowing the first thing about jewelry making, I went by what I do know how to do, bang on things! I started off with a rectangle and drilled two small holes, much like slotting a guard, used a cold chisel to connect them and slowly sized it up using tapered punches. Annealing very often. Hammred it down, worked it round and thinned it out. Good thing is, her ring size is 4.5, so its not like I have to worry about a large ring coming out of round easily.

Anodizer in Bako? :D

I'm cooking up some tool steel here, it always comes out tough yet tasty!

Anodizer in. Once I go park my car Imma set that biznatch up and ruin something! :D

Thanx guys, the more I look at it though I think I might cut the top down about 1/3. I will have to finish it out and then talk to a jeweler about setting stones. I was also thinking about just a simple copper wire inlay pattern as well. I really need to make a bowling ball vise for all my little projcts.

All critiques are welcome! Daniel, doesn't your better half do silverwork, or used to atleast? Any tips are appreciated!

More pics! How thick is it?

Do you have a flex shaft or dremel? You may be able to set a stone yourself. I bet you could make some killer burnishers too!

Maybe buy some sapphires and practice settings on some brass or something? You can buy nice white sapphires for as low as $1 ct, they are a great deal. CZ prices... We have never made any solid settings from scratch; right when we were getting into bezel settings and getting going silver went from $5/oz to $40/oz.

I might get back into cutting stone, I was working with black jade and welo opal and want to get into tube setting opal in the jade. I also priced out some sterling for heavy bracelets, lol it was $490 for 6-8 bracelets worth! I want to try this style with deep stamping, it is popular here and the good pieces easily sell for $500. Maybe later at that price for stock! Fun stuff
