Very cool! Outstanding work and the see through effect is nice.

A glow spacer might be cool on a later clear one... I like the horn you have now on this one though.

Yeah, I originally wanted to use a day glo orange, or bright red wedge, but I didn't have the material. I may still change the wedge, it only takes a couple minutes to make one.

Great to hear, everyone has had some great input and ideas!

I may skip the friction folders and go straight to frame locks, not too sure yet. After pricing everything the frickies may be more expensive than what I wanted to sell them for. I'll see, right now cash is super tight until I bury that electric cable... they are still profitable but the first 10 would just go to expenses on a small batch! Logistics, wow!

I'm super psyched to do the frame locks and have located some surplus .155" Ti for a great price, there is something cool about surplus Ti, it must have been part of a plane at one time!

I have spent the last few days thinking about the ball detent and how it works the best, lol I'm having dreams about knife action!

Cool, let me know.

I keep a sketch pad on my dresser bcause I have some ideas in the middle of the night too.

Morning gang!

Ti all the way Daniel! The extra thickness gives you a lot of room for maybe sculpting the handles like PeterR does on his Ti. Maybe even custom anodize it to a client's color preference? I'm really digging that blue above the choil on the TBOKs. 3.75" spanto chisel, 0.155" framelock and facing scale, take some Ti tubing, anodize them in diff colors and use those as standoffs, carbidize the lockface, anodize the Ti clip...I'm dizzy...can't breathe...

That is a great idea, I obsess over knives so much I am always dreaming about them.

One time I had a dream that a wire on my 4runners motor was loose, every once in a while it would sputter because of it but after days of looking and several trips to the shop no had found the problem... sure enough that morning I went and the wire in the dream was loose. This was odd because I never saw the wire before and I am no mechanic so I don't even know what it was! (computer stuff I'm sure) lol...

Oh yeah! That sounds killer! Anodized tubes, ahhh!!!

That blue is cool, I really like the dark blue and the next spectrum reminds me of the Ford color, "Lake Placid Blue." They used it on lots of cars (I know you know the color :D ) and Fender bought some of the paint from them for the Strat. I want to do a blasted grey Ti look with the dark blue, like Dallas Cowboys colors! Green too! I'm working on a special solution for green, it is tough to get and my last try came out just awesome!

I'm going to have to look for some Ti tube in the right size for the standoffs, that sounds too cool.

Morning all. Daniel, you're up early.

Good morning! I'm getting lots done and have already been in the shop a bit today! I hope to get some knives ready to mail out as well. Yay!!!

Thanks for helping me out on that drill bit, I really appreciate the help! I owe you one for sure. :D

Afternoon gentlemen. Working on the acrylic scales today. I am doing some final grit polishing and too some comparison pics to illusrate the difference.

The previous pic of the scales showed them bsically sanded and smoothed. They were shiney and reflective, but not good enough for me. Many people would have stopped at that level and it is perfectly acceptable. Here it is again to show what I mean...

This next pic shows the first round of polishing compared to the previous stage. The reflection of the twin buld shop light is just a blurry bright streak on the left scale. That is where I left off the other day. The right scale is starting to show the individual bulbs now. Removing smaller and smaler imperfections.

This pic shows it just one step further. The left scale is still untouched from previous steps. Really starting to get close now. I think just a couple more rounds and it will be close to being done. I always do one final buff after assembly.

Hopfully this shows some of the work involved with working with reflective materials.

Hey Big, I know how you feel! I'm not a huge fan of folders, but a first run DFK might just be what I need! I don't even own a beefy folder at all.

Afternoon men.Daniel a frame lock sounds like it would be pulling at my wallet to get one!!!

Good to see you BigCountry!

I have been working up to the framelock for a while now, I am really excited to make some soon!

Thanks Xander! I always make what I would want to use... I can't wait to carry one myself! :D

Those scales are looking killer! I got caught up doing some projects and forgot to look for some red or orange pieces for that spacer, I'll look today for sure.

Morning everyone! I bought a drill press yesterday and have drilled holes in everything that wasn't bolted down in the shop :D

Daniel, I know just what you mean about folder designs, I've been working on a design for a beefy-a$$ flipper liner lock for a month or so and am finally almost happy with it. I might have to actually order some material and try it out!

Xander, those scales look awesome

Afternoon men.Well my daughter's college books were $478 today and she still needs 3 or 4 more plus I have to put about $500 into car repairs for her Jeep. There goes all my play money. Dam college kills me every fall!
