I have no intentions of cleaning it, I like it just the way it is! I did clean around the eye piece, I wasn't comfortable putting my eye up to that, scrubbed the lense a bit, and the various indicator windows so I could actually see them!

I don't want this to look valuable at all, I don't want to be a target for thugs. The flash sockets both work as well! Now I just need to get an accurate light meter for using it and my studio set up, but they are so damned expensive!

Happy Tuesday y'all!

It's my Friday actually, I can't believe I have two days off in a row this week! Been a while since I've had that, not even over the holidays did I get two in a row. Gonna start digging up part of the yard for a small vegetable garden. I'm thinking zucchini, yellow crook neck, carrots, tomatoes, various peppers, maybe an egg plant too. We'll see when we get to the seed supply store or nursery.

Hope everyone has a good one! Oh, and I have to start organizing the Mini knife KITH this week because its going to open up next weekend. That's always a hoot!

Nice Xander!

Cool on the garden, we are building a second raised bed this year. One bed is 16x4 I think and the new one will be 16x3 IIRC.

I usually have a serious garden but here on the north face I stick to what will grow! One year I did some tomatoes in my backyard with just perlite and fertilizer solution that were just nuts but they were so much work. I grew the same tomatoes last year in dirt (celebrity and sweet 100) and they didn't even yield. Sounds good on what you will grow. I'm in to growing potatoes lately funny enough, the difference between store bought and garden grown is the same as tomatoes... I had no idea a potato could be so good until a couple years back and they will actually grow here too !

I grew up on a farm... sometimes we had a half acre garden. Fun stuff!

mooo, I have been gardening for ... long time. Potatoes are awesome.. I grow in yard debris rows w/ liquid fert. Buy a few bails of straw, and as the taters grow, pile on straw/mowed grass and leaf cuttings.. Since being at this "new" house, it's a lot harder to grow as we are surrounded by 100ft tall doug firs and grand firs. Been here 5 or 6 years, first year we had a huge harvest of about 20 trees. IT WAS INSANE, lol... I had the biggest bonfire in my life.. About 30ft across and 7 or 8 ft high.. once it got going, holy crap the flames were seriously 3oft in the air and it was so damn hot you could not stand within about 25ft without feeling serious burn...

Add to the trees, we have wildlife everywhere so are garden is limited to part of the dog run... O_O and we created a new spot that needs fencing this year... like this month, ugh..

The photo of turkeys is from upstairs looking down at the septic field (one of 2 small grass yards) and one of our 2 garden spaces.

Two photo of the main tree harvest... and one of a single tree removal by massive crane and some insane tree climber... we also had 2 trees die from beetle kill that were BIGGER and had to be removed in 2ft segments.. and I'm still dealing with that left over crap. :D

Potatoes are in the back now, not pictured.

Sloth357 those are some seriously cool photos! Looks like my place but not a mess, lol.

Interesting on the tree removal, I wondered how some of those bigger ones were removed. I need to have about 200 cut to even make a dent here, (for just the yard) they are overcrowded and falling all over the place. There are about 10 that really need to go for safety. I can cut the rest myself and probably will this summer,

I bet that bonfire was nuts! I was at the second or third largest bonfire in history, at the time it was a world record. Texas A&M does them and actually engineers the whole production, it was scorching hot 400 yards away, you could barely look at it! We used to burn huge piles of mesquite back home, that stuff will burn for a week straight. I have a big pile of shrubbery near the shop that needs to go...

Morning!

Afternoon men. I ended up getting a brand new 2012 Jeep Liberty 4x4. I can not wait for the snow to melt to go out on the back roads!!!

I haven't watched this but it is on the bonfire...

D- I personally only fall trees under 10" dia/60ft tall, and they scare me! I almost hit my house once, and my old jeep once.. yikes! We still have tons that need removed, a few are hazards during Jan. high winds.. ugh...

That is about what I can cut too, maybe smaller than that. It is about as sketchy as it gets, once felled a tree and it took two out on the way down... domino style. One took out my fence about 100 feet away.

The power co came through last year to clear their easement. The crew climbed the trees near the lines old school style with spikes/belts and trimmed them with hand saws, it was cool seeing how fast they did the job.

I may go cut some trees today with the Big One! :D

Hey Daniel, this is why I stressed buying a filter for your lens...

You can see the chip next to the reflection. I didn't even drop anything! I guess someone moved one of my gear bags that I have three camera bodies with lenses on them in, and the top wasn't secured fully, so things shifted and one bumped the lens! A $15 filter is a lot cheaper than a $350.00 lens! I guess this is one vote for plastic bodied (or at least covered) modern cameras.

Also, a great dust blower for cameras, sesitive electronics, etc is one of those snot sucker squeeze bulbs for babies. You probably have one sitting around from Jade's things, so throw that in your kit too. Just be sure to wash out any snot debris first, lol! Be sure to store your camera with a lens on it, a lens seals dust out of the body better than the body cap, and then you don't have to worry about possibly getting dust in there everytime you use your camera. When blowing dust out, or changing lenses, try to do it with the opening facing down to prevent any falling in.

Well, I knew I wasn't going to get off easy having two days off in a row, first off when I got to work, normally our two biggest shipments are already in and received, but today only one had just gotten there when I did! The second one showed up 6 hours late!! On top of that, my morning cashier called in, so I have my closing cashier doing a split shift, which leaves me by myself for 3 hours to put things away, cashier, and do whatever else needs to be done. So, now I am just finishing my lunch break, 1.5 hours later than normal, and I have a shit-load of work to do. <sigh> back to work...

At least the beer will be that much sweeter when I get home.

MORNING EVERYBODY.

SORRY FOR SHOUTING BUT I HAVE LOST MY VOICE! LOL!

Don't know what's going on, but I wake up this morning with the most aweful sinus pressure, cough and my voice is done for. Oh well, work has to get done.

Morning Xander! I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for the tips with the camera too, I might go buy a new squeeze thing, lol. I'm really careful with the camera but out here there is a lot of debris blowing around. I was wondering about keeping the lens on, that makes sense. When I got in from grinding Sara was talking about f-stops and aperture settings so that was cool! I have been to busy to really play with it but will soon...

I have a huge pile of belts and paper in the trash, I think I filled the whole can in the last few days... lots of knives!

Good morning Y'all! I am having a rough one today, all of my coffee making devises broke around the same time. I even had a back up one cup coffee maker BNIB. I dug it out, plugged it in, loaded it up with delisious and hit the start switch. SNAP,the switch broke !!!! So I made this.

Xander, I hope ya feel better bro!

Xander that is awesome! That is how we did it on the boat, my friend from Tahiti tripped out that we had machines for coffee! Funny how everything breaks at once, I know the feeling.

FBC, killer photo! That was from my first run of knives in that general style. Glow cord too!

I don't know why I thought that was two posts, lol...

The plum brown is cool! It helps a but with rust too. I need to do more like that, I love that knife. I remember keeping it on the TV stand so I could look at it.

I'll never forget the day I made it, that was from my first batch ever that was a real batch... not the same designs but they all had the same style. The original DFK kiridashi came from that one too...

That is my original tribute to Phill Hartsfield, my first real tanto if I recall correctly.
