D- whats the scoop on knives man??

Knives - oh yeah knives!

I had to rest from grinding for a couple of days, my shoulder was causing me some problems. The big chopper and testing about did me in, lol!

I have a bunch coming up,it should be a huge week!

Emails too, I took a half day each weekend day on them and am still pretty behind. I think I need to step up production about ten fold! no joke - I want my new answer to be, "Yes, I do have one in stock"

Sloth, I know our boys are the same age, so I am sure can understand how nice it is that he still goes to school for a few hours in the morning. I use this time to catch up on things I normally can't do while he's home, lik play in the shop. Irritates me, the wife says she'll watch him so I can do stuff, 30 seconds later he comes out and starts playing with whatever I'm doing and the wife says "he wanted to play with you" and its so not kid friendly.

Anyways, there is a new mayor in office, but the issues leading up to this point took 20 years of bad decisions, poor planning, and wreckless spending. The city marina down town was a $3M project but was estimated to cost only $175K/yr to run, but when a management company did an analysis and gave their figures, it came out to $750K/yr to run! That's a pretty damn big difference! Mayor Ann Johnson was one of the biggest crooks we had around here, and was accused of taking illegal retirement benefits of over $57K, she fought it in court claiming she didn't know the charter (she's th damn mayor, she better know the charter!) and she shouldn't have to give it back. She screwed up so much for us over 20 years, its pitiful.

Got the handle for a pricker turned down today, got the shank shaped out as well. I really like turning zebra wood, it behaves nicely, doesnt chip out very much but you do have to keep your tools sharp. Much easier than the spalted pecan like the last one for Gnarly. I can actually turn it down much thinner in the beginning than the spalt too, pretty stable and even wall thickness.

Handle for a pricker, its like a marlingspike but a little smaller and with a handle. Its for untying or tying knots, leather work, sewing sails, etc.

Here is the last set I made with spalted pecan for Gnarly on here...

Morning y'all.

Its raining something fierce right now. At about 1/4" an hour right now. Should be letting up a bit later today, either way, I guess I'm not riding my bike to work. Only real downside to this rain is the lawn grows like crazy, it will grow about 4-6 inches in just a couple days!

I just picked up a CAD program the other day . I need to load it and start playing around with it.

No worries Daniel, I hang out here because I like you and the atmosphere round here. I know you like seeing other works, but bottom line is this is your "store" and someone else coming in selling is kinda rude. I used to deal with that at the bike shops, trying to sell a nw bike and someone walks up and jumps in the conversation to offer their used bike.

So, all the stuff I posted earlier is either gone an sold or for a paying customer already, and I won't discuss any details of making one for someone beyond an informational WIP.
