You too! May your dreams be sharp, durable and stain-resistant!

lmao!

Yeah yeah! Really, you could mill yourself a silhouette, give it an edge, then electrify it like a hot knife and Bob's your Uncle! I've seen people cut foam for banquette bolster cushions with wire connected to 9V batteries.

Got you! I have seen that sort of thing too, cool stuff. What I really want is a laser cutter/engraver, they can do a lot. I wouldn't change my style at all but it would be nice for signing Ti and other tricky tasks.

I think I slept 11 hours last night, still feel best up but more rested. This time of year is rough, plus I needed some rest. I walked around the woods and the entire ground is mold where the snow is melting off. It is freaky, like the whole woods is covered with spider webs. I think the mycelium goes to the surface in the winter.

Wilson,Jen and I wish you well.
DUH, I meant Big.
Daniel,That back spacer looks as cool as a back spacer can.
Good morning y'all

Cool spacer... so are you getting any of this CNC'd? Can't imagine how else you would make those spacers all identical by hand O_O

And lets see some bali pics!

You get 11hours of sleep.. hmmm I WISH. I've been in bed on and off for about 20hours, but only slept about 6. Of course broken sleep by "the death cry" from our baby 4 times last night. Solid foods are not going well with him.. I CANT WAIT FOR BABY STAGE TO BE OVER I'M SICK OF BABIES AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. End of summer and he'll be mostly past this if his behavior follows any sort of pattern that our first went through.

And the family is gone today to give me a break prior to fun day, Tuesday! Day 4 of being sick as a dog, same face pain you are having, coughing up green wads of love with black specs and a little blood. Fever, chills, no voice at all. Then have a co-surgery on Tuesday.. No rest for the wicked.

At least after Tuesday I should get some rest... drug induced rest but f'it. I hope they give me a fat prescription.

Alright, back to nothing! Hope everyone else is having a good weekend.

Hey FBC! Nice music... thanks too!

Sloth357 what's going on!

Bali pics soon, I need to shorten one screw by a hair and it is done. I have flipped it a bit, it rocks! The spacers glow in the daylight they are so bright.

No CNC. Just cutting that one part would cost a fortune but I have not ventured into any CNC work. I'm already wanting a digital readout for my mill, that would be a DNC machine! Daniel Numerical Control machining! :D

I would likely get it waterjetted about 5% oversize and hand finish. The waterjet just does the saw work. If I do 30 I'd use a waterjet and for a one off I'd use a printed out/scribed on paper pattern.

It sounds like a pain doing all the layout on something like that but after you do layout the jimping and finishing can go quickly. Measure, scribe, hit the scribed line once with a triangle file then a chainsaw file for a few strokes. They have to be filed out either way... profiling takes maybe 5% of the time to make a knife, it's partly grind time but mostly the fine details that take a while. Waterjet or Scribing from profile are the best ways to keep sizes accurate.

Well, I was in bed that long! I was up at 3 am for three days in a row prior so I think it caught up on me. I also got up in the middle of the night, our newly adopted cat is about to drive all of us nuts!

Morning gang, well what's left of it.

Just got to work and am not wanting to be here. I haven't worked late on a weekend in a while. Oh well, it will still be light out when I get off, so not too bad.

Did a bit more gardening yesterday and today, got some decorative wire fencing to keep Radar out and started the herbs in some pots. Brandi just had to paint all the pots, so now they're all nice and bright. Did basil, thyme, and rosemary. The rosemary will be transplanted later when it get too big for the pot.

Sucks, the next morning after getting everything in the ground I went out and found a bunch of half eatn leaves on the pepper and squash plants! I ran out to get some snail bait, its like snail genocide out thre now, lol! They have been racing across th lawn to get the hell out of there since I baited the entire yard/garden/flower beds.

Daniel, sorry for the delay in sending things out to to. I did just pick up a very nice heavy duty tripod yesterday though, so I ill be sending that one instead of my el cheapo. It will need a new head, but if I can figure out what brand the head is I might jut pick up a plate for it and you can use it as is. I scored it for only $5.00 so I'm not worred about the cost. Its American made as well! An older Tiltall if you want to check them out. Machined aircraft grade aluminum and currently has a fluid dampened pan/tilt head. It extends to almost 7' high, so a sasquatch shouldn't have to stoop down too much to use it.

Gah. That sucks, Sloth. At least if you're gonna be bored, might as well getcher Medicinal Bake on.

The part when he comes in with his resume is the funniest! Never seen that but that was pretty hilarious...

by the way, I'm pretty sure we better lay off of that subject rules and all

I've been working on Kydex and chopping up G10, nasty.....

Wow, thanks! I'm really looking forward to that! 7" will work! I promise to film some grinding with it. I always try to and you can never see from the side. Man that rocks!

Sucks on the snails, I think you can put out saucers of old beer too... whatever works I hope they are gone soon!

We're getting the garden going asap, it is almost melted everywhere here now!

one of my all time favorites... we played this album to death back in the day

Here's the ultralight camping/steak/backup knife I am working on.

I have at least 100 designs going in CAD, much of it is just for kicks trying to be a better designer. It really helps to get to play with the design and I can not draw very well...

I started with a caping knife design at first on the top then evolved down to the third one. I think in .080" Ti it would weigh maybe 10 grams...

Um, what is old beer? I have heard of this phenomenon, but I have never, EVER found an old beer in my house, lol! I guess if I took every bottle and collected the one or two drips in the bottom of each one I might get enough to fill a beer cap, but that is something that just does not exist in my house! The bait os working wonders! Only down side is when Brandi forgets to turn the proch light on and I walk up in the dark; crunch crunch.

No worries on the camera gear. One thing I just figured out is that the tripod is actually a clone (made by Star-D) of the tiltall tripod made by Leica. It is just as solid and every bit as sturdy, but aparrently they are known for lasting only 20 years or so instead of the 30-40 like the real ones, lol! I would rock this one no problem, its solid. Just don't leave it out in freezing temps for any length of time, it has plastic bushings.

Oh, and those UL knives look cool! Similar to the little one I ground out some months back. It fits the hand well, and is comfy. I think Matt said he does a scalpel like it too. Sure are useful little buggers! So, when is the rest of the Ti feeding tools coming out?! I could use a set for my locker at work!

Oh, and Moby rocks! Don't know the truth to him playing with Flipper back in '81 or so, but he's a punk rocker too. Also a pretty good photographer, do a youtube search for his photography interview.

Cool, I remember that scalpel dashi you made that was awesome! I have to check Matt's design, we think alike. They are one of many designs but I had an inquiry on them, I might do some that are true steak knives.

Right now my focus is to finish anything I have started, Keychain Tools, Backpackers and Folders! I'm going to slip in some more dashis and a few tantos too!

The tripod sounds awesome, I'll make sure to keep any freezing use limited to none. I'm really excited! Thanks so much for hooking me up, you rock!

we rocked this Robert Miles a lot too..

And so do we!

Here is the only pic I have of my little SGK...

I've been looking for a specific handle material for it, but have either run into very high prices or too thick of material. I may just use the satin wood on it, that Matt sent me.

Freezing use of the tripod is fine, just be sure to bring it back up to above frezing before collapsing the legs so the bushings don't snap, not a big issue but one to be aware of.

Uncanny! Man that is looking good!

By the way, man I'm excited about the tripod! I just told Sara and she is too.
