If you guys get Ti chainrings withing tight specs let me know! I can get them in steel but they vary a bit I hear. (usaknifemaker)

Anodizing T is a piece of cake for the most part, sometimes it can be tricky. Colors are dependent of finish too.

Frickies are cool, they are not too tricky to make. Drilll the pivot, then stop pin area, then pivot the blade closed to drill again for the closed area... grind around that. For lapping the pivots and standoffs you can just drill a piece of steel and sand the pivots down resting in the hole you drilled.. glass and sandpaper do the trick. Besides a drill press you don't really need any power tools.

I'm going to do some more frickies I think but I have two framelock designs you guys are going to trip out on! :D

I didn't know who Phill was and one of my early customers mentioned my tanto reminded him a lot of his Hartsfield's. I looked him up and was just floored, his knives really are something special that just does it for me. I completely get everything about why they are so awesome... after that I found out how big he was and how much controversy there was around his work and what it was. It is funny before I knew the history I thought he could be any regular dude but I knew his knives were the best! They are just too cool...

I got in some Jade, Black and Coyote Brown G10 today as well as a bunch of cord for tsuka-maki/cord wraps! The Coyote Brown will be for the A2 tantos that Rolf designed, I can't wait!

I'm gonna use .060" 6/4 Ti for the blade of mine, CF/Kevlar laminate handle, Ti chainring bolts. Totally non-magnetic setup. Mine will be a covert frikky! I also have some 15N20 in .060" I might make a little one with. You HT that stuff Daniel? I am not set up for soaking at temp very accurately. Plate quench is fine wth it, I have one done that way by my good bud DanCo and it rocks. I will still send mine to you to carbidize the edge.

I was just on amazon looking at Ti CR bolts, a pack of 5 for $20 isn't bad. They're singlespeed bike CR bolts, so pretty short, don't know what thickness/height you need.

I should look around for some Ti stock, I have just one scrap piece right now.

15n20 - all day long, I love that stuff. I use oil then plates but it doesn't really matter.

If you want a bunch of Ti I have a connection. :D But it has to be a bunch! look on ebay for small pieces. I'm about to have a bunch of scrap but probably all too small for a blade.

By the way, I just heard from the waterjet guy, 50 keychain tools in Ti will be cut soon! :D

Speaking of Ti, I might use Ti stop pin(s) on some folder designs, it sounds perfect. Just wait to see what I have in store!

Bako, I've had a Strider that TT did, and currently a war toad :). But keep preaching to the choir. :D

Oh, and yes upper res. infection and sinus infection last Thursday that still persists and complicated by co-surgery that I had Tuesday this week. Plus the 4 hours of sleep over 48 hour period made for a fun assed 3 days of recovery so far. Booya.

And apparently Percocet now makes me hallucinate so I quit taking them. I used to eat them and drink and have a great ol time... Guess a few opioid od's changed how I react...That and it's been 9 yrs since my last dance o_o

Knife show this weekend, wish I could go....

Sinus infection here like I have never had, I feel for you. But I had it easy, I am glad you are done with surgery.

Percocet hallucinations, that does sound crazy! I have heard a lot of opiates can do that at times. Were you climbing trees to signal people, lmao!

I think I'm gonna ride out there again next week and bring those boys some bacon or a brisket, and buy another frikkie off him. Sort of a pukko.
 
Opiates, man I haven't danced with her in years... my stange body is allergic to synthetic morphine, and the real stuff was hard to kick after being on a self-admin pump every 10 minutes for 14 days in hospital. She got me in trouble later in life, but that horriffic surgery-gone-bad was just over 12 years ago now. Basically, I'm lucky to have both legs still.

My wife has wild hallucinations from Vicodin! I stick to legal stuff now, I always thought growing up would suck, but I'm thankful for what I have! Including every DFK I own!

Creepy crawly steel dust, that's just weird. Back when I was working for the weapons guys, I would spend full days staring into a stereoscope or microscope, trying to adjust to looking at things at normal distances after that made my head spin! I could never just leave after doing that, I would do something else for 20 minutes at least before driving.

Morning guys!

The weather forecast is lookin good today! Work has been ridiculously slow lately, just boing at times. I get some drawing of knife designs done, but last night I woke up out of a sound sleep because I dreamt of a design I had to get on paper just then! There I am huddled over a sketch pad, furiously scribbling away, erasing, flipping pages under the glow of my bed side lamp. Brandi rolls over and asks me WTF am I doing?

I don't want to show it just yet, or even talk about what it even is but I should get a prototype together soon.

I understand 100% and keep pondering about the way he did things. I have some ideas now that I want to work on.

Super secret folder! For sure! I was looking at the design yesterday. I had an idea that I am still considering for it that could be cool.. or might not work. I'm going to read more as I can find out.

Nice! My second folder came from a dream... drew 95% of it in CAD in 30 minutes! Fun stuff and I can't wait to see!

Nice! Have a good one! I'm about to hand pver babysitting duties and head down to the shop myself! I'm building an etch tank and a ghetto "tumbler" for big knives.
