I bet it is. My former fiance ran the original Dock Street Brewpub, which was one of the first 'crafts' to get nationwide recognition back in the 80s. They used to serve a dozen fresh beers at all times, made on premises, from Russian-style stouts to Kolschs and Wits. They even had a credible Chef (some miserable Fwenchie) for a while.

Now it seems like every four blocks a place is brewing beer in the front window, and raising ducklings on the rooftop. It's a little overwhelming sometimes, and it makes me think that the old statistic of 80 percent of restaurants failing within 4 years probably needs revamping. It's gotten to the point where it seems like all people are interested in is novelty, and they'll RAVE about a place as their new favorite for precisely as long as it takes for another place to open, and they're never to be seen again. It's a big part of why my involvement with the industry is only ever on a consultant basis anymore.

Actually, right downstairs from my apartment is the top-rated beer store in the country called "The Foodery", which has upwards of 400 brands of beer. Sometimes it makes it tough not drinking beer anymore. :(

Morning Fairly-philes! (that sounds wrong...)

I'm running electricity to my new shop today, really really excited about it. 220v!!!

I'm holding out for one of those plungeless, full flat cleavers!
I need to make more of those...

Dude, give mine a 60mm edge and call it a straight razor!

Wicked cool, bro.

Thanks! 212mm+ edge on this one (8.38"+)

Bako- wutchoo going to do with that clever??
You're not the only Chef Rolf! :D

I just drew them up quickly but I like the idea of a massive cleaver. 18" long...

I like the Cleaver Dan. One of my earliest knife purchases ever was a cleaver from Charlie Edmondson. It is still one of my absolute favorite knives. Don't get me wrong, your knives have all seen much more pocket time :).

Mornin.

Hair of the dog that bit me last night is in order. Cuba Libre.

Off today, so I'll be heading into the shop in a few minutes. Getting a marlingspike ready for HT today. Also going to enter a build competition over on a razor forum, so I need to pick up some supplies to get that started today.
