I've owned 3 VWs.... loved 2 of them :D I'd have to scan a photo of one.. as I owned it "pre digital camera age".

I'm getting closer to beginning a project car(s)...

I want to do a 72 camper bus (minus the inside "camp" stuff).. so straight up poptop with 2 extra seats, one bench...

and I've always wanted to do an old Jeep willy or cj5. I've had 2 jeeps in the past.. loved intermediate off roading.. so probably not going vintage, but going with perhaps 32s and partially vintage look.

we'll see.. life is still swirling around me here in this time and place :)

Going to sell some fixed blades! O_O I think 20+ 6-7in blades is too many.. that and I have knives in seven different places and they are taking over... eight, gah...

football day, booooo.. going for a drive to the bird refuge :D yay! my "home team" the packers.. will lose, my mom will be bummed and that is about as far as that goes :D

My grandfather was given tickets from Vince's family back in the 60's.. he had 50 yard line tickets for 2 decades... then gave them away! My mom still wishes she would have taken them.. but WHY, we live in the PNW now! And meh, Green Bay is COLD!

sigh, that is all I have until I eat or drink coffee.. long day yesterday at OMSI... back home late.. insane rain all night and still...

Time to go beat the kids :D

Yes, I am a air cooled VW nut. Not nearly to the extent that I used to be.....as I don't even own one right now. I do miss my buses :( 66 kombi with safari windows and a nicely built 1776 motor & 67 Westy with most of the camp kit and the little pop top. Here is a pic of a cool VW bus that is a mobile bar that I saw in Bangkok.

They finally stopped production of the Kombi in Brazil I think last year.. And apparently they are everywhere..

I'd love to find a syncro that isn't over priced or that has been abused....

In high school I had 2 buddies that had old super beetles all fixed up... one had a wall of 4in speakers.. Can't recall how many but 40-50 of them.. coiled down low... That bug blew most dual 12" setups away... Can't recall SPL of his system but it won contests and blew windshields...

My bus had a Porche engine.. fun to drive, not fast, but tons of torque.. I wrecked it though, meh...

Mtns up here are getting rained on now. BOOOOOOOOOOOO

Hey Sloth, just send all those blades to me. I've got a couple of extra drawers in my knife cabinet. Any time you want to see them, I'll send you a picture of them.

Perfect, I'll give you my paypal acct and once the cash is there, I'll send right away :D

Yeah, if I had that much money I wouldn't have 2 empty drawers. :D

BTW, Nice Benchmade you've got for sale. Like I said if I had the money.........

right... but you do! :/ :D

Hmmm things fill the spaces.. get more space, you end up filling it.. those drawers will be filled soon enough I'm sure!

lunch time.. hmmmm humans require far too much food, too often...

Hey guys! That was a great game. I've been streaming football, last week it was a British channel with the game and pretty awesome to watch.

I've owned a 76 Super Beetle and a newer Fox... I liked the Beetle and the Fox... I should have shot the Fox Elvis style. :D I'm all about Toyota right now but want to fix up my '62 Unibody eventually.

Pics tomorrow I bet, I have a few new ones almost ready!

Yo.

Just finished watching American Sniper. Wow, just an awesome movie. I actually wanted it to keep going, I highly recommend it. Just go watch it.

Been wondering who could make me something on a lathe. I need some precision work done. Simple, but needs to be accurate.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Hey Xander, if I was at my old job I could have helped you out. At my new job they don't have a manual lathe. Plus we only machine Beryllium Copper, and they keep a close eye on every piece. Ah hell, what are you needin' done, maybe I can figure something out.

The Japanese have some fantastic engineers!
Our best VW was an older Jetta.

I agree, my 4runner is the only vehicle I have owned that has always made it home no matter what... I keep a tire plug kit and even fix flats on the fly, lol. Those older Jettas were cool...

I'll have to check it out!

I'm thinking on the lathe work... if IMWILSON can help you out he is the best!

I wish I had a lathe, I have a Dewalt drill that is my current turning machine. :D I'm thinking about turning down a bunch of pivots and will be looking around.

I forget if I mentioned this but an old buddy of mine held an extremely rare claim to a Beryllium ore mine... Tiffany Stone. I have a killer piece... looks like "cracked ice" mammoth bone with the healed fractures. I'm kind of scared to cut it, lol.

Yesterday was epic, I ground 9 knives from start to finish and finished up 5 keychain tools... signed a bunch of gear too.

I have a Backpacker with an extra tall (and slightly more puled back) grind I will be finishing up today or tomorrow. It came out excellent but the grind is different so it will need it's own sales listing. If interested just let me know! :) $115 chat thread sale

Keychain tools are up on my site! www.fairlyknives.com

Big day again today... hopefully I can find my anodizer leads! lol

You guys have a good one!

Morning y'all!

Wilson, it's basically a face lapping tool. 1.000" diameter shaft that goes into the bore, with a T flange that is 90° true to the bore. Then some sort of way to turn it, could be just threaded hole for all I care. Needs to be steel, hardened for use with valve lapping compound. Will be using it on 7075-T6 grade Al.

Off to work!

My main problem is that I can't turn steel at work. The steel chips would contaminate the copper, and that's a BIG NO-NO.
