Time to grind! ... well sign a bunch of knives first! But grinding will happen... I'm hoping to have a few knives ready by later today, hopefully with sun left for pics! One RF2, 2 Motivators, and a Tie-dye Backpacker...

Rolf, I have not restored the KaBar yet but I think I know what I will do now, I will likely use a stone and set a new bevel about halfways up the blade after the slightest shaping on the edge. I feel this will not change the knife up very much yet it will be usable again. The original edge geometry is just perfect so I want to recreate that.

I hope the snow isn't too bad up there, I still haven't cleared enough here! :D

You guys have a good one!

D, I will pray to the sun god for ya.
Bobby, weekend plans? Mo grindin'
STOP.......Coffee time!

Unsure! If I get free time, I'll head back down.

XD9 is in. Gonna go pick it up Monday over lunch. Woo!

Morning fellas!

Off work today! Getting out and cleaning up some of my R/C gear to sell. Just not into the hobby anymore. I will keep one of my baja buggies though, that thing is a blast! But I don't have a need or space for an 80mph road car anymore.

Weekend plans? Gonna finally go shoot my AR!!! The stars have aligned, the property owner, my uncle, and my schedule have all matched up and I can go shoot! Got a bit of range maintenance to do as well, fix and paint the dualing tree, make new reactive targets, groom the burms, but I will gladly dig post holes with a spoon to keep shooting on a private range! My schedule should be much more flexible this spring and able to get out much more often.

Think I'm going to bring my .22 rifle as well, it's always a blast to shoot! Was the first rifle I got to call mine! I refinished it several years ago and discovered a beautiful mahogany stock under the beat up factory varnish! Jeweled the bolt and touched up some metal work. It's just a purdy little gun now! August '71 Remington 582, tube fed bolt action.

Bolt jeweling...

Hope y'all are having a great night!

Naw, no dungeon tonight. Just got home not long ago. Bed of the trucks filled with sand and shopping is done. Just gonna wait out the snow that's on its way!

Thinkin about mah new gun Monday. Soon. Soon.

Morning y'all.

Back to work today. Woo. Hoo. :-/

But, I'm off tomorrow and get to go shooting! Oh, and tonight we are going out drinking with some old highschool friends and just general debauchery will ensue!

hey guys!

Xander, nice work on the .22! The jeweling is too cool.

I'm nearly catatonic at the moment... fell out at about 8 and woke up at one. I've been working on design about half the time since... gotten some work in too... almost a full day already! :D lol I need some sleep next.

Man today was a PITA. Internet has been down at work since about 8 am and was down still when I left. Good thing we just got our back up credit card system the day before that runs on a Samsung tablet through 4G.

So, grabbed a primer beer or three, gonna chow down some dinner then take the wife out drinking with the old homies! Grandma has the boy and it's gonna be gooooood night!

Making it great every chance I get!

Cheers bros!

Morning y'all!

Damn, had an 18.9% abv beer last night! A stout no less. I'll see if I can dig up the name again. Good thing it was only a 5 oz. pour! Pretty darn good good too!

Make it great fellas!

Good morning guys!

18% Xander, that sounds serious! I need to make some more beer... a 9% barleywine sounds pretty good. :D That's some serious yeast to get up to 18%! Maybe a newer strain or wine yeast... I know there has been a lot of work on high abv yeast in the last few years.

Time to finish up some sheaths today!

You guys have a good one!

Yes, this click a button to reply shit is ... shit.

18%.. stout? odd.. I thought due to the sugars and such, stouts generally were low in alc%... compared to say a dogfish 120min IPA 15-20% alc%!#$

I haven't been drinking much.. seems every time I do, I get sick.. not like drunk sick, but the next day my body is all pissed...

time to make the donuts.

As far as I know, stouts were always a bit above most Porters - in the 7-10% range. But you get Russian Imperial styles, and others which push it above. I've never seen one above 15 though. Yeesh. High-octane indeed.

Hope everyone's Sunday is awesome!

Good mornin' y'all! I came home yesterday to a package from my buddy Hillbilly squirrel. What was inside, you might ask. It was this awesome custom made TKT beanie! This thing is suuuuper soft and warm.

From what I understand, he spins the wool to make these hats too. It intrigues...and worries me that these kind of skills were once common place and now almost nobody knows how to do this kind of stuff. This kind of stuff = make a product from raw materials.
Rock on with your bad selves.

Shop work in! Just not on knives. Built another shelf, organized our food and water stock!

D, whatever happened to that coffin handled dagger? :o

Kevin, that hat is awesome! ...spun the wool! That is super cool.

Bobby I still have the coffin handle Ti dagger, I need to finish it up! Thanks for reminding me, it is too cool to sit aside.

Folders today... lol technically that meant I hand lapped blades from about 8 am to just a second ago... have a trashcan full to the top of sandpaper. I ordered a flat disc for my upcoming disc sander build, hopefully this will be the last time I hand lap all day. My hands are toast... I think sanding more than .002" of thickness off of a 10v blade should be outlawed. :D I have worked with granite, sapphires, emerald... lol this stuff is waaaaaaayyyyyy harde to grind... and it's not hardened yet! Carbide :D Good day though, it's great to be back on the folders!

It's time for some Evan Williams!

that's a lot of lapping!! When will your rig be up and running for that?

Man I keep a mental note on all the sweet projects you tell us about. Keep in tabs, cause you never know what your next purchase will be!!!

Sunday night! Watch in some TV with the wife and cousin. Not excited to go back to work. :(
