Fake Buck Vantage Pro?

Must I remind you again that folks from your neck of the woods aren't supposed to have a sense of humor. Scheeeeeech. I can see that my work on you isn't done. Uh uh, nope, not by a far piece. You made me laugh out loud again today. What next? Cute little brown birds sitting on rare open 300 series Buck knives stuck into trees!

Thats pretty funny.

Im simply saying mine was identical. And buck said mine was. I believe his is, its called opinion thats what these forums are for.... How hard is this!

Where did you buy your fake Vantage? I wonder why Buck would send back a fake/counterfeit knife? Seems like they would be better off keeping it and sending you a new, real Vantage.

Ordered it off the big auction site. I didnt expect buck to loose product because i was sold a fake. Its not there responsibility i didnt think.

Don't quote me but I could swear I read on an older thread that Buck just throws away the fakes they get. Otherwise they have a heck of a return budget. Could be wrong though. I am sure some of the experts know.

I do not think they would be able to just toss a customers knife without consent fake or not, they would have to either replace or return (IMHO). If they just tossed without consent then some one is going to blame Buck for not wanting to honer their warranty claim.

Oregon, it was oh... I wanna say 4 months or so ago. I can surely try and find it again and send you the link. I dont believe it was American. Not sure tho.

OK. Thank you.

Giving up the vendor would open my eyes to a new fake and to its source. That stuff interests me. My having that information might also help to titillate your point/counter point fans. There are many badges to fake cutlery. I won't give the fakers a road map to help perfect their art here. I would appreciate a run at it anyway. The imitators are a vexing problem for me because they mess up my key word searches for Buck knives and that gives me the fidgets (I use "advanced" in my searches and limit vendors to US based and still get cursed knock offs. !@#$%^&

Well, Since we are on post 52 and tempers seemed to have calmed down.....For a spell there I was feeling we were getting on thin ice with the personal comments and name calling. Just so you guys can know the limits I think we should impose on ourselves, a few more attacks and names and I would have locked this thread down.

Remember, for those who feel attacked or insulted, as recommended by badhammer, step back a minute and respond with cool talk and facts or take a break off thread. For those doing the attacking, no matter how you feel about what is written, or how noble what you wrote or think you wrote is, think out your statements to folks so they are clear and concise without having to resort to non-fact, not up-to-date replies. Remember this forum is about knives not about letting ourselves get riled up by written words.

I also am a forum 'bigot' and someone who is a forum member of long standing, who has contributed quality information and conducted themselves with good demeanor in the past will be defended by me. I also will expect them to act at a higher standard than newer members who might not yet understand the Buck forum standards of operation. Just saying...........300

They would have . . . kept it anyway. And knowing Buck they would have probably sent him a new one as well.

A friend of mine from Australia, bought a fake Spyderco a few years ago. I posted a picture of it in the Spyderco forum and Sal made a point of getting her to return it to them. He sent her a new Delica back.

Jill,
You have a large number of posts in BladeForums but it seems I have only read your posts in the Buck forum for a short period of time.

With that said let me bring this up, I am not a Buck employee, former or current, and unless one of those reads and comments on a post, we have no idea any response or request on our part is heard by a Buck responsible employee. I think both Joe Houser and CJ Buck would say they are so busy they can only drop in once in a while.

I think it is right that if we make comparisons or tell stories about other companies knives it is with application in the thread. Your comment is OK, but I would like to see everyone use the word 'Buck' in at least one sentence in posts that are talking about other folks knives.

To everyone, in the past and in the future I have (will) deleted posts that run on about how good some other companies knives are. (Yes, this is usually a person with less than 10 or so posts.)

300

I didn't mean Spyderco was better, just that sometimes companies do want the fake back for comparison and maybe even just to see what's going on. To be fair this was quite awhile ago when fakes were relatively rare. Today they are not so a company very well might have less interest in obtaining fakes.
