Fall Trackrock Hammerin?

Maybe that was my problem.(besides the soft blade) I didnt lift my right leg. Just to set the story straight. Daniel was the only one to successfull cut through the monster rope from hell in one whack. But nobody could do it two times in a row without stropping. This rope was full of dirt and grit. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.(and a soft blade) :) oops

Soft blade!! Say it aint so..... :D What knife did you use MArk? I hate I missed up but visiting with Sandy was worth the loss ;)

It was the one with the half wood half antler handle. I got the steel from a spring company for very cheap and never did test the stuff. This is the only knife I made from this batch of steel and made it just for competition cutting. I'm going to test the steel soon and see if it will harden. If it does I'm going to stick the whole knife , handle and all into the forge and try to harden it. What dont burn of is just getting a good epoxy coating. Might turn out pretty cool.

I guess that's what happens when you get cocky and just assume the steel did what it was supposed to do. My bad. live and learn. :)

Mark - can you post pictures of your two pointy beauties? The comp. knife as well as the one Sandy made the sheath for? There were incredible....

I dont have a picture of either yet. I'll post the one that Sandy made the sheath for later. The comp knife will be getting cooked soon also to see what happens with it. Should be interesting.

if you think you'll end up cooking the handle on that one....would you mind grabbing a pic first? I really liked how the bolster area turned out on that one.
