Fall Trackrock Hammerin?

I've got alot of pictures I'll try to post tomorrow.
Had a great time and enjoyed visiting with the many makers, collectors, and visitors that attended.

Made it home safe and sound...:D

We pulled in around 8:30 AM....easy drive.

My father-in-law has been "bitten by the bug"....many thanks to Carl and Mark who put up with a lot of crap to get this together.

How'd I miss Jerry H?

Dan,
No idea. He was around all day.

Here is a picture of the plaque that Gus mentioned. Awesome job by Carl and Mark.

I cant say more about all the guys. Everyone one I met felt like an old friend. The plaque was a nice gift to the campground owners. Sandy was in good spirits and everyone pray for his family. Great weekend!

It sure was great getting to see everyone again. I wish the whole country could just declare a couple of weeks per year hammer-in week :).

I'll get all the photos together in a day or so. I'll be in my post hammer-in depression for a while. That's the only bad part is that I hate having to come home. There's never enough time to get to do everything we want at these events. Maybe a week would be better :)

'nother goodun!
Really missed you Chuck, just ain't the same without your warm "How are you?" ringing through the camp. Hope you get to feeling better brother.
Everybody asked about you. But you know us we waited like pigs at a trough.

Good to see all the rest of you there! There is a good string of pictures on the Georigia Custom Knifemaker's Guild board on the forum that won't be mentioned.

Probably because I'm such a quiet, low-key kind of guy...

This was just a great experience as it always is. Some really great stories to tell, but I'll let one of those pass with a reminder that it will be shared among a very wide audience at the appropriate time... :D

Thanks for the invitation, and the many friendly chats with so many nice people.

sounds ominous....! :o :footinmou

I'll tell my one story with Jerry......... :o :o

Well, I stood up and shook Jerry's hand, kindly introduced myself after droping one of his prototypes. How bad is that??? :o :o :footinmou

One way to be remembered, but not sure if I want that burned in Hossom's brain. Live and learn huh?

Time for another bonk on the head from Mark!!

Brian, you are not alone. (Another Jerry Story another dropped knife.)

I drug Calvin Cooledge up there on Saturday. Now the boy has been collecting knives since before dirt. Jerry shows me the other prototype. Heck of a knife that will end up doing very well and screams "Jerry made it" even though it is a folder ;).

Calvin takes a look and proceeds to drop that baby right on the gravel. He is the last person I would expect to drop a knife (especially over gravel).

That handle was already well designed for retention and use. Ranks up there with any folder handle I have checked out. It did not need to be roughed up:D.

It is going to take Calvin a few years to get over this one!. Next time I ask him over to see a new one, you can bet he will be holding it over a pillow. :footinmou Maybe I get get some one to do some cross-stiching or embroidery "Steve's knife examination table."

Hey I wasn't even going to mention those two incidents. I do admit though that having my first two folders dropped on the same gravel within 10 feet and 30 minutes of each other by two different people began to look like a conspiracy... :D

Gus, it was great seeing you and Steve (ahem) up there this weekend. Since we live about 10 miles apart we could and probably should do that more often.

Mark, if you did something wrong I missed it. Too bad. I could use a little blackmail walking around money. :)

I promise I did not drop your folder, Jerry......:o

...and I'm sure there's plenty of material good for blackmailing me.....

I would love to.

I'll bring the pillows if Steve comes :D.
Seriously, I hope that they cleaned up OK.

Yeah, the knives are fine. I don't make fragile knives and with micarta handles they're hardly works of art.

Besides, having a lifetime lever to keep Steve under control is well worth it anyway!! :D

 so many sharp knives, so many interesting people.

What a killer time I had at Trackrock......I could write a multi page report ~ kinda like what you used to have to do when you came back to school from holidays~

What I didn't do was drop Jerry's folder :p

I missed the cuttin' but that's okay as I need the practice.....

Learned at least one thing from everyone I had the pleasure to talk with. So thanks to you all!!

Picture time. Not sure if Daniel was rope cutting or learning how to gravel skate :)
