Fallkniven A1 Pro review

Looks much better, Congrats you do nice work. The only Fallkniven I have at the present is the Tor very well made. I wouldn't mind a pro though also. Great review too,
Thanks for sharing.

That is not my work,

That is Osmo from Finland working on Tyler's(TJack) knife.

He does amazing work.

Ok Thanks for the info, Osmo does nice work then, I like that wood he put on the pro a lot of different colors in it.

Any updates on your A1? I was contemplating getting a custom built, but for the price I'm just thinking of getting an a1 pro instead! This would be a one knife do it all on wilderness pack trips, skinning and quartering elk and deer, chopping wood, battoning and general cutting chores. Do you think the blade is nimble enough for skinning? And the edge thin enough for this type of detail work? I have an f1 pro and am really liking the steel. In my tests it holds an edge much better than infi or sr101 cutting Manila rope. Smokes infi in this regard, and beats sr101 by several cuts! I had the originally wanted a custom in 52100, but for a little less I could get an a1.

I'd say it depends on the geometry and finish you put on the edge. Also, if you have very small hands it might be too clumsy for the finer tasks.

But I can fully choke up on the blade past the guard and do the finer tasks.

The hidden beauty of the A1 pro is how well it cuts for such a thick knife, it has a great blend of precision and brutality that I haven't found in any other knife.

Got mine today.

Nice. I love mine n use it hard and it performs well. Lam cos steel is by far my favorite . Good luck with it. Post up some user pics when you have put her thru the ringer. ENJOY.

Looks nice I was looking at that Volcano also for quite some time. It seems to be quite a heavy duty knife from the specs on it. Congrats and let us know how it works out for you.

It is very stout, but it's ground right. It cuts really good for such a thick beast of a knife. I'm really liking it so far. I'll post a short review when I get a chance.

Thought it would be fun for you guys to see another opinion on my favorite Survival knife.

Shane is a good buddy and is also a fellow knife junkie.

We met here on Bladeforums.

He loves high performance blades and knows how to use them.
So I had to let him try out my favorite Survival knife of all time.

I'll put together more content for you guys in the future.

It's been a year so far since I've bought my A1 pro and there were definitely some first production hiccups by Fallkniven but the new warranty has covered everything.

Also, I really like this knife and the content will keep coming if I really like something.

Thanks
Shawn

Thanks for the review, I've been looking at that A1 pro for a while. I've got a Fallkniven Thor user and I really like Fallknivens convex edge and ease of sharpening. I may have to try one out myself.
