Fallkniven A1 Pro review

Correct me if i'm wrong but it seems that fallkniven revised their warranty on the Pro series to from lifetime to 10 year warranty on all knives. it may just be a marketing stunt when they initially came out with a lifetime warranty on the Pro series.

Nah, it just confusing on their website.

Ten years on all their other products

Lifetiime warranty only on the Pro line

"We have considered everything in the design of this quite superb knife and we, therefore, offer a lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship."

BTW they were not kidding either. They shipped me a new knife from Sweden Fast. No problems since and I've been having a blast thrashing on it in the woods.

Good times

Yeah lifetime warranty on the "Pro" series. Shipped one in for the guard issue got a new one with updated guard. All well until I noticed that the handle was loose... Contacted Fallkniven here in Sweden again and they said it was just ship it in again for a replacement for there next delivery in August. I live in Sweden so it ain't much trouble and Fallkniven is easy to deal with. 👍

I've got my replaced too, because the guard was loose and it was possible to move it to the side. What was the symptom of your handle getting loose? Did you see it on the spot or after heavy use ?

Thanks in advance for replying,

Best,

Stan

Hi Stan!
I didn't notice it before I put it to use. Battoning, hopping etc... The handle moves up and down towards the guard. I can move the handle by hand and I feel it in use. Talked to Fallkniven about this and I just have to send it in to get it replaced.
Hope this helps.

I've read that the 420J outer layer scratches easily. is that true? I know that all steels can scratch but my only experience in stainless are m390, s90v and s110v and scratches doesn't appear easily due to their hardness.

Thanks for all the time you put in making these educational videos. Outstanding work!
Thanks brother, much appreciated

Excellent review, thread and story. Thanks for the great read. The A1 pro looks to be one stout performer.

is the thermorun molded on tang? I wanted to see if the handle prevents water from seeping in the tang trough the guard or pommel area.

Im curious

Why?

Although 420J is high stain resistant, it will eventually rust if exposed with moisture. I'm not really worried about it. just curious as well. I do think if the tang is molded, it would be difficult for moisture to get in the tang.

How are things with the pro? It's holding up fine?

I am so pleased with the regular A1 that I'm getting more and more curious on the pro.

Even though I've told myself that I'm more than enough pleased with the regular the pro has started it's gravity pull on me..

Once you try the Pro, there is no going back.

Looks much better, Congrats you do nice work. The only Fallkniven I have at the present is the Tor very well made. I wouldn't mind a pro though also. Great review too,
