Good luck man; I got scammed out of an Emerson Commander, CQC 7 and a Cold Steel Kudu and never was able to resolve it; I was most upset about the Kudu...

Regardless, I hope you can figure this out as you situation sounds a lot more positive than mine was.
I feel ya. I lost a CQC-11 to some fucker.

As for the OP, pvk has been in trouble here before:

However, even a trader/seller/service provider with no negative feedback may still burn you. My biggest loss came from one of those tards and I had no recourse. But there are lots of outstanding folks here, so don't let that keep you down. At least 90% of my recent purchases came from private sellers on this forum and various other gun/knife forums.

Hey man it's ok you'll learn from it.

I took a second to check out PVKs site and look at that metalmark. It looks relatively genuine, but a couple things concern me, like the backside of the blade has no grind lines, and that cheesy disclaimer. What kind of box and pouch did it come with? Can you take pics?

I've considered ordering from PVK before, but the guy has a very bad reputation online, and this may just be the final strike. It's a shame considering he seems to be knowledgable and has a great variety of knives in stock. He just treats some customers better than others apparently...

Good luck though! Hopefully you can get your money back (if it is indeed a forgery) and get yourself a nice BRS, tachyon II, or benchmade. Regardless of silly Canadian laws....JK ;) !!!!

EDIT: I Re-read your OP and realized you're pretty smart and checked for all the telltale signs of fakery. Good job. Is it possible that a Microtech employee snagged some reject parts to sell on his own? Idk, just speculating....again, good luck!!

yeah the next bali on my list is a HOM, should suffice at least >=D

Also, everyone knows balisongs are illegal in Canada and something like a BRS will get stopped at the border and i am disgusted at the implication of not abiding by Canadian laws! So much so in fact that i feel if you know how to get a balisong into Canada i strongly suggest you PM or email me so i can privately tell you how disgusted i am ;)

You seem to be a pretty smart fellow for your age. You're asking the right questions, and getting great advice.

You may want to get in contact the CC company before you hear back from them. They will likely tell you the first step to take before they can do anything. You could have the ball rolling by the time you do hear back from MT, and you will know what documentation you may need from them.
Good luck.

The compliment is appreciated. And i couldn't agree more. I'll see if i can contact the CC company tomorrow :)

Lol, no chance at all. I don't know how that works and I would suggest following the law of the land. Please, update us when you get word from microtech!

We do not discuss how to subvert laws or customs on this forum. Thank you.

Wow!! Microtech with the reply from straight out of left field!!

This trainer is in fact an authentic microtech knife, the company itself has verified it.

Now.... to try and figure out how to do a RAF with no serial number...

Don't kid yourself, if it is fake, josh at pvk knew it

UPDATE PLEASE READ: Microtech itself has confirmed the trainer is authentic, i would like to say that i apologize to josh and PVK for any negative publicity this post may have given him.

Glad to hear you didn't get taken.

It's too bad you didn't get your facts straight before starting this thread that basically lambasted the seller.

Granted, you did apologize for your error, but many internet user will probably only remember the negative opinions given on this dealer.

Lesson learned? Always check with the seller and the manufacturer before going off on a tangent,

I think buyer's remorse was as much the issue here as any actual problems, of course dismantling the knife was not a wise move if you had any real intention getting your money back.

In the long run, it seems you got exactly what you thought you wanted, even though that may not be what you want anymore.

I think we all can learn a few thing from this discussion.

Yeah i couldn't agree more. Buyers remorse was a rather influencing factor here. When i get the knife replaced i think i'll leave it in the box and post it on Ebay for a little cheaper.

For anyone still reading the forum, Josh at PVK was very helpful and responsive to me. Although i never confronted him about the potentially fake trainer (it isn't fake, for clarification) he still replied within hours of me requesting a refund and continued the email conversation for several emails all in that day. He also sent me a small screw driver kit free of charge with the knife.

That's the funny thing about the internet, upset people will make posts, where the content people are too distracted with their new knife to do the same, and so we get this large concentration of negative feedback on the seller.

I would recommend buying from Josh at PVK, just check your local laws before you do so.

The mystery that still gets me is why are these pivot screws so damn crappy?
