Fandorin/Alex Cherpel - Very Bad

jbravo and I did a deal on a Mad Dog a couple months ago. I had put a couple Kydex scratches on the blade between the time we originally talked about a deal and when he decided he wanted it. I offered him two prices - a lower one if he was going to "Collect/trade stock" the knife, a higher if he was going to use the knife. It made sense to me as the value based on the intended usage would be different. Seth laughed at me and picked the higher price. Seth goes the extra distance to make sure a deal is honorable. If our company ships goods and they get damaged,we pay for shipment back to us, and we take it up with the shipping company. The shipper should bear the responsibility.

So much for my 2 bits.

Jack, this thread is not about you. We have heard all this before. You do not always need to come and defend yourself.

Hopefully this will work out, as from what I read Seth has given today as the limit of time he is going to give Alex to do what he considers, the honorable thing. Seth, let us know what happened, either way it worked out.
 
Jack,I have no beef with you,but really what does he say, she say have to do with this thread?Even if Seth made the comment to Alex about you,this thread has no correlation to that statement/opinion whether it is true or false.I'm sure Alex has had good dealings here in the past,I mean anytime a trade,sale,or purchase is made with no problem everybody is a great guy.Where the really "Good" guy shines is what his/her response is in a situation where there is a problem.In this particular case his past great dealings mean squatt,because he is failing to respond with integrity to this situation.He has put blame on the buyer,to offering the 8.00 to fix,to sending it to California for an"inspection" Out of these choices the only honorable one was to pay for the fixing.However,the buyer is not interested in keeping a repaired knife.The only other fair offer is for a refund with no strings attached.Send it anywhere he wants but for a refund not an inspection.I find it hard to believe if Alex was in the same prediciment he would not feel the same as Seth.In fact if the roles were reversed,I'm sure he would have been posting the problem in this forum as well.He's not on the receiving end of a bad deal in this case,so apparantly he doesn't give a hoot about the buyers situation.This is the kinda of crap that makes me think twice about deals here,especially out of the country.It is sad too,because there are very honest foreign formites that deal here,but all it takes is a few bad apples.

Jbravo is having the knife repaired and will sell it at a reduced price. He has shown once again he is a man of honor.
Alex on the other hand has shown his true colors, he has sold his rep and honor for the paltry sum of $375. Not much for a mans name. Hope a link to this thread doesn't show up anytime he tries to sell anything. That would be a shame.
 
This whole thing seems so senseless. This should have been able to be worked out. I am very disappointed in how this has all finished up.
 
Seth.....is my friend. And he's entirely honorable. So here we go;

alex is a good guy and i have done many deals with alex because hes not a punk and i never do deals with punks because nobody is better than me ans i have all of the best knives that i sell at a loss because then people say good things about me in the gbu forum at bf and that makes people buy more of my knives from me which i sell at a tremendous loss all because i am a good and not a punk and i dont deal with punks and never will because im jaxurscam so just ask anyone who has ever done a deal with me who is the best knife dealer i mean not a knife dealer and they will tell you that jaxurman is not a punk because i make them say so before i do a good deal with them and everyone knows that id do good deals even though i type like a 5 year old and know nothing about punctuation it doesnt mattr because im jaxurman and alex is my buddy and we never screw anyone because were not punks because if alex was a punk nd i was a punk wed tell you that we are punks to your face because we are honest and have the best deals around even if we call knives mint and they have broken tips that happened in the mail which isnt our fault at all because all of our knives are mint and cheap because were not punks but you are because you dont say good things about me not being a dealer and you can really trust a guy who writes a novel but stuffs it all into one entirely incoherrent sentence like i do every single time that i type anything so there you go you know who the good guys are and who the bad guys are so buy knives from me because i am not a delaer just ask everyone eho deals with me that i am not a dealer and never have been because dealers are punks and im no punk you punk.

I get five minutes, but I JUST had to read this entire thread. So what can I add?
1. JBravo is a man of enormous integrity and credibility. PERIOD

2. A Deal is NOT a deal until both parties are happy.

3. If Seth says the knife arrived with a broken tip, IT DID

4. Canada, Africa, Australia, The knife gets returned, Seth gets a
FULL REFUND. That is the ONLY way. There are no other "options"

The only one who's feathers are ruffled is JACK. Jack, PLEASE read the hundreds of GOOD things said about you. If you intend on getting through the rest of your life with 100% "approval ratings", then you have a tough road ahead. You are an honorable Man and have always tried your best to make every deal right, and stick with every deal UNTIL both parties are happy. Then you "ask" for positive feed-back. It is not about your knife dealings, they are wonderful, honorable, and you certainly have a great eye for great knives. It is about your EGO, attitude, and "hang-up" you have with ANYONE saying anything that is not positive about you. SO WHAT Jack, you are here to provide us with knives, and we all know you do so with Honorable intentions. Stop sweating the small stuff, and get going and start posting some sweet tacticals!!!!
BTW, of course you have "Sold" many, MANY Emersons. The secondary market and the profit margain is very high for them. Supply and demand jack, and you KNOW what knives move and what do not. You can make good MONEY selling a custom Emerson, and they do not sit on the "knife exchange" long.

Seth, I would NEVER sell you anything, EVER. I would give it to you as a gift to acknowledge the wondeful things you have done, continue to do, and will do for the knife world. You are an exceptional human being. I wish you the best, and I am saddened by this entire thread.
