Fat Bastard Field Knife Picture thread

People are a penny wise and a pound foolish sometimes. Thinking they are saving a penny while spending a dime in labor, warranty, or other operational costs with using a lower quality product. Honestly, when thinking about it, it’s actually quite stupid what people do to save a penny while spending that dime.

It's really not about minimizing expenses, it's about optimizing bang-for-the-buck.

Invoiced? I was invoiced, and made payment in December 2024.

Was there another pre-order run after 2024?

They're finishing production now.

They're tricky to sharpen so I've decided to CNC sharpen them before manually finishing them to maintain the fidelity of the geometry that I want. It became a bottleneck on a machine that went down a couple weeks ago due to a power surge (that also affected another machine and the air compressor) but we're back in production as of yesterday so they're going to start shipping again soon.

Sorry for the delay.

These fat bastards have been plagued with technical challenges. I didn't like the heat treat response so they were all spheroidized annealed and run again in October.

Almost all of them are getting some manual grinding to get the lines to line up better. That's me and Mark.

They take a lot longer to sharpen than I anticipated

This knife is making my hair fall out. Not K18 bad, but they are definitely making my hair hurt.
