I just picked up a couple of the build out single blade 301's, sorry no pictures of them yet.

I don't want to make a thread about this so I'll just ask here.

Is Buck still looking to domesticate all its knife production? If so, when will the trapper models (specifically the 384) be moved over here?

The trapper was already made in the US. the model #'s are 311 slim line trapper, 312 small trapper, and 314 large trapper. Who knows when Buck will bring the 370s, 80s, 90s to the US.

Yes, I'm asking about the models that are still made currently. Or would you say the old trappers (ie., the 314) are cheap enough to get without paying for collector value?

They're all cheap enough if you take your time and look for deals.

It's also fun.

:)

BTW.......thanks to all for the great pictures......especially 300Bucks!!

I only have the 309, but it's carried daily. On the few days I don't have it, I feel something is missing. It disappears in my pocket because it's so light and compact. Carrying it is not work. I had such a crappy day at work today, I just pulled my 309 out and looked at it while waiting for the train.

Pug, Which one or one's are you looking for. Shoot me an email at old300s@gmail.com and I'll look to see if I have what your looking for. Matt

I have to say that this thread piqued my interest in the 300 series knives.

I bought a 307 about half a year ago and put a good edge on all three blades. I started carrying it every once in a while and it has become my most used EDC lately.

Have to thank everyone for the excellent pictures posted here that inspired me to give these a try....especially 300Bucks for not only his pictures, but the artistic way he presented them.

Thanks Stump, let me say this. Everyone is taking improved photos. If you are a new guy or gal, do a search on knife photography here in the forum and read up on our discussions and cussions of the past few years. Especially if you are thinking about buying a new camera or setting up a special lighted knife photo area.

I enjoy everyones photos and especially the ones with something in the scene. Many are better lighted and sharper than I can take.

As a helpful pointer, I am constantly watching for natural objects, Buck stuff, old stuff, etc. to use in a future knife photos. Interesting background materials such as bark, fur, feed sacks, signs and old documents, etc are also good. So as you travel about start casting a wary eye for such stuff to use in your photos.

As an example, I recently found a clean wild turkey leg bone with spur bone showing that you will get to see sometime in the future. I like interesting driftwood sticks and rocks also. A large plastic tub with a lid makes a good storage device for this stuff.

Good luck everyone in your searches. 300Bucks

As a example, here is piece of a photo of someones collection you will see in a upcoming newsletter. My little duck is starting to get age cracks.

I really like the buk 302, it doesn't get very much attention but I love the simple design and slimness of the knife. The clip blade is all I realy need and these buck 300's are tough as nails!

Nutoknives. I love that 317 of yours.Very nice looking one. My favorite 300 is what ever one I'm carrying at the time. I think the Cadet is a great everyday carry. The on the other hand the 309 i great when having dress pants on and just need a small one at the offie (dont really carry much though). Then there is my old 301 that I've had for 25+ years. Right now though I'm on my 307 kick. :D

Thanks Kyhunt it is awesome but to large for pocket the Sitflyer Slim Fit 112 has taken over my EDC since I got it, just beginning to get into the 300's more money more money, decided to get some recent 300's instead of hunting down the old ones and see a 301, 305 heading my way shortly,GREAT KNIVES EVERYONE KEEP THIS THREAD GOING AS SOME REEL AWESOME 300's
